Corsair Vengeance 1500 7.1 / 5.1 Dolby Gaming Headset gives you a compelling gaming experience with accurate audio imaging you need if you’re playing to win. Designed for performance.

  • newegg Dolby Headphone multi-channel audio built in If you have onboard sound, the Vengeance 1500 provides easy one-cable USB connection and Dolby Headphone technology that lets you enjoy multi-channel games the way they were meant to be played. Dolby Headphone is compatible with any game with 3D audio, and helps reduce “headphone fatigue” while delivering the accurate 360-degree audio imaging you need if you’re playing to win.
  • newegg 50mm drivers The massive 50mm drivers greatly reduce the overloading and distortion that can occur with gaming headsets that use 40mm drivers. You get more accurate sound reproduction (particularly for the all-important low-frequency effects). You hear more audio, more cleanly, and you get a competitive advantage.
  • newegg High-sensitivity noise-cancelling microphone Whether you're barking instructions to your teammates or chatting with old friends, you deserve to be heard. The unidirectional, noise-cancelling microphone is tuned to capture your voice loudly and clearly, while screening out distracting background noises. And, it flips out of sight when you’re not using it. In addition, the circumaural closed-back design also blocks distracting sounds and keeps your head in the game, and the extra-large inline volume and microphone control is easy to grab and use when the action heats up — you don't need to take your eyes off the screen.
  • newegg Superior Comfort The extra-wide, extra deep earcups don’t just help things sound great — they feel better, too. Customize your comfort with the included microfiber cover. It uses memory foam earpads for a comfortable, reliable fit that conforms to the shape of your head without binding or pinching.

Pros: Very comfortable, easy to adjust, great mic. I have relied on this for active gaming for over a year and it still performs perfectly.

Cons: none that I have found

3 out of 5 eggsCorsair Vengeance 1500

Pros: This is a great headset for sound quality, as well as noise cancellation and voice quality.

Cons: The USB drivers are a pain to initially deal with, and do not come shipped with the headset. I did run into driver issues.

Another problem I have had with these is the cord seems to be lacking in quality. I have had 3 headsets fail on me, and after the 3rd pair failed, I did not find the cost of shipping them out to be worth it for the RMA, and rewired it myself.

Other Thoughts: Corsair handled issued multiple RMAs without an issue multiple times. Great customer service.

3 out of 5 eggsNot What I Was Expecting...

Pros: See other thoughts >>

Cons: See other thoughts >>

Other Thoughts: I order this headset on 6/10/13 the price was reasonable $75(Total) I was really exited for my first gaming headset unfortunately I was not impressed. This headset lacks in bass, it needs something else to give that extra power. I would not consider this to be the ultimate comfortable headset out there. After 2-3+ hours after raiding you can(I personally) start to feel the weight of headset coming down on my head. Sure this headset may feel light but once you were it, the weight can start coming down on you. The foam or microfiber ear pads are not that comfortable either, your ears can get warm, not hot but warm so you need to take the headset off once in a while. Also, the microfiber picks up a lot of lint or dust and since I'm still the gel type guy it leaves flakes on the ear pads since it rubs against the hair.

The mic in my opinion seems very good. when I used the mic In mumble my group noticed right away and said "did you bought a new mic or something, your voice sounds crystal clear" props to the mic then.

Ever since Windows 8.1 corsair has been having issues with their sound drivers for a while they had brief 1-2 months of nothing but troubles.

I typically use this head during the night when everyone is sound asleep or when I'm raiding 2-4 Hours.

Even after 10 months in using this I personally would recommend this headset to say the least, when I was at Best Buy in the PC gaming section I tried the Logitech G430s and these felt so much lighter and they weren't crushing my head also the demo sound effects where even better and sounded more convincingly. I'm probably going to try out Logitech or Steel Series for my next purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsGot 5 months out of this headset

Pros: The headset has amazing sound and the mic is very clear . I love the software that comes with the headset as well. To change from gaming to watching movies or listening to music is great.

Cons: I ordered this headset in Sept. of 2013. It is now Feb. of 2014. The headset has started to cut out and the sound is now very low and hard to use for anything at all. I hate that I am now having issues as I truly loved this headset while it worked correctly.

5 out of 5 eggsStill workin great!

Pros: Good sound, virtual surround very effective. Sturdy construction. Clear mic. Bought 2 years ago, still going strong.

Cons: Very much like earmuffs, a little hot for a warm day, but its body heat, not produced my the cans. I find myself sweating in them sometimes.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Corsair Build

Pros: Great build quality. Great sound and surround. USB software works great. Comfortable. Nice volume control and mute on the cord.

Cons: While comfortable, they are fairly big and the cloth cups can get the ears warm (and sweaty) after extended wear. They can get a bit 'heavy' as well after a long gaming session. But still a great solid headset and worth the price.

Other Thoughts: Since I don't use the mic much, I recently purchased the Audio Technica M50's to listen to games and music, which is a much lighter headphone and i find myself mostly using. But glad i have these corsair if i ever need a headset. For gaming, i can't really tell the difference sound-wise, both sound great for that.

5 out of 5 eggsBest I have ever owned!

Pros: Great sound, great base. Glad I went with this over the 2000 series.

Great Base, especially when using 7.1. I love listening to music with these on.

USB so don't have to worry about on-board sound quality.

Better then my 2.1 speaker setup on my PC.

Cons: Took a little getting used to.

Other Thoughts: My inexperience with surround sound does play a part. I have a little trouble judging it. I'm not an audiophile, so I can't say how good that is, but it seems great to me.

2 out of 5 eggsEhhh

Pros: I have a rather large head and these fit quite well considering, a bit on the snug side but not uncomfortable. The sound is on the better side of average after lots of tweaking and that's really about where the pro's end.

Cons: With the design if you were to flip one of the ear-cups back to have a conversation with someone, you run the risk of popping the whole headset off or your head. The sound frequencies require a lot of fickeling in order to sound decent, but even still it struggles to relay low freq's. Not a lot of driver support with Windows 8, it's like a bunch of guys in a basement developing their drivers. Not to mention after just about a year the right ear speaker does not work. I have always been a faithful Corsair customer, but I will NOT be buying any headsets from them anytime in the near future.

Other Thoughts: This is not a half bad headset if you've never experienced the likes of say Sennheiser in terms of sound quality, but they are worth nowhere near what the asking price is, even now... And I paid almost $100 for mine just last year from NewEgg. Anywho I went back with Sennheiser since these "Defecated" the bed.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Quality Control

Pros: None.

Cons: This headset has been a serious exercise in frustration.

Two RMA's within the warranty period now because Corsair cannot design a braided cable.

First RMA, the cable detached from the control box and I lost sound because the wire was exposed. This was due to a horrible glue job.

Second RMA, the "braided" cable has become so tangled it looks like I took needle nose pliers and purposely kinked the hell out of it. Like a ten foot cord that probably extends three feet right now.

The third problem I've had with BOTH headsets now, the drivers just love to reverse channels on me. Nothing beats having the sounds that should go to my left ear go through my right, or sounds in front of me sound like they are coming from behind.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from all Corsair peripherals!!!!! I am done with them! Not worth the price for cheap, fragile plastic and the Corsair logo!

This is a headset that starts off feeling nice and just slowly and solidly degrades into a frustrating nightmare! Not an isolated occurrence!
