1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 6 months NEVER misued

Pros: Cirucumaural

Cons: One ear failed after 6 months. Cord was never wound up, wadded up, or otherwise abused. One day the connection was spotty, the next day it didn't work at all.

Control box on cable is in a terrible location- just right to constantly get hung up on desk, clothes, etc.

Other Thoughts: Garbage, avoid.

2 out of 5 eggsNot the best for the price

Pros: Cheap price

Cons: Everything about it is cheap,

Other Thoughts: i used to use a logitech G330 which i bought for 25bucks which is in everyway better
more comfortable, better sound, easier to use for longer hours, better mic qualty by alot.
Honestly if our working with a low budget, do more research cause in my opinion this one backfired on me.

2 out of 5 eggsNot too good

Pros: The quality is good enough but not the best. The wire length is good and the noise cancelling is good.

Cons: The mic is too far away from the mouth than it should be. I found out that the microphone audio is very bad and has static. The headset is uncomfortable for me to wear for my amount of gaming hours.

Other Thoughts: It came in a nice package and was very organized.

2 out of 5 eggs"Okay" headphones, bad mic.

Pros: -Looks nice, seemed promising
-Got it on sale
-Extremely comfortable

Cons: -Mic seems to either be defective or outright poor quality, I mean REALLY terrible, it's literally unusable using 3 different inputs, my rear dedicated soundcard panel, my onboard sound, and my external soundcard.

I tried adjusting settings, this is one of those instances where I should have listened to other reviews. It seems hit or miss whether or not these work for people, I was either one of the unlucky ones, or this particular product just has some massive defect in half of the models produced, because I've seen my same problems mentioned by others here.

-Sound is flat to say the least, my old $10 headrush headset beats these and I find that to be a massive disappointment considering these are regularly up for around $50. It is acceptable sound quality for gaming I guess, but if I can't use the mic what's the point in having them, if I just want to listen to my game audio I'll use my m50's...

-Given the mics poor ability to pick up on sound (which seems to be a general complaint across the board), I would have liked the microphone arm to hold it's position a bit better, seeing as in order to be heard you have to have the microphone almost IN your mouth.

Let me clarify one more time, I know what I'm doing when it comes to audio and sound, and this is simply not an issue on my end, it is either a poor quality and/or faulty product. I also tried the "play with jack positioning" suggestion, which served to do nothing, other than allow the "stereo to mono" issue to surface, I blame this on poor quality jacks? Not sure.

Other Thoughts: I'm planning to immediately hand these off to my significant other, and we will test them to see if they happen to work better with her laptop and on-board sound. I plan to invest in the 1500's next when I have the money.

The reviews that say you'll have to yell in order to be heard? That's no exaggeration, I would literally have to scream at the top of my lungs, and the return volume (what others will hear) sounds like absolute garbage. I literally can not hear myself 90%+ of the time.

Audio return volume cuts out and fluctuates violently with my soundcard's mic boost and smart volume activated, but without them, the mic picks up quite literally nothing aside from what sounds like electrical feedback of some kind. No combination of drivers and windows audio settings allows these to shine in any respect, just awful, truly. Not what I would ever expect from Corsair.

It's not my soundcard, and it's not my system. My $10 mic works just fine and gives me 0 feedback, all through a 3.5mm jack just like this one uses, no problems.

Normally I would return these for refund or exchange, but given the process I had to go through to get these delivered (originally were lost/misdelivered, had to file claims) I'm not sure I'm going to bother, maybe they will serve as an improvement over my wife's webcam microphone... strangely enough though, I doubt it...

Long story short, I've been had. Can not recommend these, but if you do purchase them I wish you luck, because they seem to work fine for some people. I recommend you DO NOT purchase these for voice chat of any kind, not worth the gamble. Invest in a different pair, these aren't the ones.

Just to make sure, I also tried via front panel audio inputs, as well as plugging the microphone into my parents office system. With the mic muted/off, the sound quality when listening is adequate, but as soon as the mic is unmuted (even when it's completely off volume-wise, as in not supposed to be transmitting any input audio through windows onboard) that strange feedback and generally awful return sound comes back.

My bet is either faulty/defective, but either way not worth the headache and I do not want another pair.

1 out of 5 eggsbad from the start

Pros: fit and comfort

Cons: tons of static from mic when speaking (i was forced to put on my old headset so i can actually have a conversation without some complaining about the noise coming from the mic), sound is extremely hollow and unimpressive, also have a problem with it switch sound from stereo to one ear piece.

Other Thoughts: I installed these in my pc with a creative sound blaster x-fi extreme gamer sound card and all was ok except for the mic static, which is exceptionally loud with mic boost on(which u need on with this headset since no one can hear you without it). i paid 27 bucks for a cheap Log***ch headset which out does these a 1000 times over.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very comfortable when wearing. The headset feels to be pretty solid and doesn't seem like it would break after daily useage.

Cons: Microphone arm is very short, you have to talk very loudly for anything to work, I've tried to turn up the outbound volume but it didn't work very well.

When you are actually able to use the microphone, there is a very obvious static noise when talking. Everytime I talk to people while playing Dota 2 they always complain about the loud static noise.

Trying to get the sound to work on both sides is like a chess match, simply plugging the 3.5mm jack in doesn't guarantee that it will work, you have to twist the plug around until it finds a sweet spot.

Other Thoughts: Paying $55 for a heatset you would assume it would just work but with low sound quality, well, this headset doesn't even work when you plug it in. The constant static noise from the microphone and the chess match you have to play to get sound to work on both sides makes this item not worth buying. If I wasn't a lazy bum I would have returned this item within the 30 days allotted and gotten a different one, but now I'm stuck with it.

Other Thoughts: all and all everything works ,its got good sound but doesn't go really loud by any means but will do the job for gaming and talking to friends. Really good buy for the price for sure.

1 out of 5 eggsCOMPLETE GARBAGE...STAY AWAY!!!

Pros: They look cool.

Cons: Unless Newegg simply turned around and sent back my original order, these headphones have a design flaw. Any movement of the cable causes the audio to cut in and out between a mono and stereo like feed. I just figured the first pair had a short in the cable. The replacement pair had the exact same problem.

This was tried with two different computers and three different cell phones. It isn't a port issue on the connecting device.

Other Thoughts: When the cable was in just the right position the sound was pretty good, and I was really hoping that the first pair was just a fluke.

I hate to do it, but I'm just going to have to take the grandson down to Best Buy and let him try the headphones they have in their gamers section.

5 out of 5 eggsOne more Thing to Add

Pros: A lot. Already stated in previous review.

Cons: Non

Other Thoughts: One thing I forgot to mention. The mic and sound plugs are not color coded and people complain about it because they are both red. If you look closely the connector rings on the plugs are actually color coded. I pay attention to small details like that. So just look and the plug and go buy a pair. What are you waiting for!

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Raptor Headset

Pros: Wow! I feel like I hit a homerun! Great sound quality, looks sharp and extremely comfortable. The best thing is that I got them on sale for $25. Yahoo! The mic is very clear and I didn't have to change my TeamSpeak setting hardly at all. They really feel like they are worth $80-$100. So glad I made this purchase. I think they are $45 now but still worth it in my opinion. I love them!

Cons: Non

Other Thoughts: Should have bought 2. If Corsair products weren't so expensive I would buy them all the time. Corsair = quality. Their Ram and PSUs are outstanding! I guess they have earned the right to charge more for their products, but I only buy them when on sale sadly.
