1 out of 5 eggsCheap....

Pros: - good price
- easy to use plug them in and good to go

Cons: -left speaker broke in less then a month
- feel flimsy

Other Thoughts: Get something better, I thought I would go with a somewhat cheaper headset this time around after my astro's finally died after heavy usage for 4 years. Big mistake, save yourself the trouble these will break on you in no time at all.

Pros: Great sound and mic response for the short time that it worked.

Cons: I plugged the headset into the USB port on the front of my case, mic/volume control switch on the HS cord lit up. The auto install for the HS popped up and appeared to run smoothly, I used the headset without issue for about 3 hours. The next evening I plugged in the headset and the volume/mic switch didn't light up... ok. So then suddenly my mouse, which is plugged into the USB port next to the mic froze. I unplugged the HS and the mouse and plugged them into the USB 3 ports on the back of my case, in other words, directly into my board (gigabyte z97 hd3). Nothing. I unplugged the HS and now my mouse works. I go to Corsairs' website do reinstall/install drivers for the hs. It won't let me install them without plugging in the hs. I can't do this, as now my pc won't recognize the hs from any usb port. I even tried switching to yet another USB port that happened to be next to my ethernet connect and it actually killed my connection, ethernet light and everything on the back of the case cut out. BTW I checked BIOS and voltages seemed fine.
TL;DR : worked fine for a short time then made my USB ports seem to completely spaz out for no apparent reason.

4 out of 5 eggsGood headset

Pros: Only use this headset for games, but I think the sound is great.
The microphone is sturdy, and has decent pickup range.
I really like the volume and mute control in the cable.
Nice long cord.
Comfortable after long gaming sessions.

Cons: Sometimes it's very slow to switch sound to headset after it's plugged into the USB port.
I've had problem with the microphone settings changing between programs, but it's likely a software issue.

Other Thoughts: This is a good pick, especially when deeply discounted on sale. That's when I got mine.

2 out of 5 eggsNo Audio in Left Earcup after 3 months

Pros: Audio is somewhat decent for the value. Not very comfortable at first, but you get used to it after a while

Cons: As the title mentions, the left earcup lost audio capability after 3 months for no apparent reason. RMA has been filed, hopefully the replacement will last longer than 3 months. Kind of ridiculous in my opinion...

3 out of 5 eggsCorsair Raptor HS40

Pros: Mic works great
ear cuffs are comfy
easy usage
got it for only $30

Cons: The sound quality is not the best. It is not comparable to an actual headphone but for the price it is good. It does not keep the sound in very well, if you leave it on table you can hear it like a speaker.

Other Thoughts: not bad for 30 wouldnt pay more though :/

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work

Pros: Comfortable fits on head and around ears. Long USB cable.

Cons: I can't get it to work. When I plug it in it works for about a minute and then Windows says it cant recognize the device descriptor. When I try to update the driver it says Windows is already using the best driver for the device. Tried uninstall, reinstalling, using the default driver Windows finds, and tried using drivers 1.08 and 1.09 from Corsair's website. I opened a ticket for an RMA. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear customer,

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused by the headset. Since it seems like you already submitted a ticket, you can check for updates at corsair.force.com or call us at 888-222-4346.

5 out of 5 eggsheadphones work real nice

Pros: usb work real nice and they work

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: by going sli with my pc I had to give up the front headphone jack. my second card would not fit or be recognized if the front headphone jack was connected. so I looked everywhere other headphones were way expensive and the adapter cables would not work. these are great price and they work.

4 out of 5 eggsOkay...

Pros: Great sound clarity. Hear things clearly no matter the volume.

Outstanding mic, even on skype, g-mod, and other multiperson chats.

Listening to music is also pretty good, and these headphones can pump some Bass.

Cons: about 5-6 months into using them, the left earphone stopped working. The right ear and mic still worked, but it just totally killed my immersion into gaming.

Other Thoughts: If not for the broken earphone, these would get 5/5.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry to hear that your left earphone no longer produces audio. If you would like a replacement, please contact us by submitting a ticket at corsair.force.com or calling us at 888-222-4346 and we'll be more than happy to help you.
