5 out of 5 eggsGreat; 7.1 really makes a difference

Pros: These headphones is a great improvement then my other Artic Cooling headphones that broke in less then a month.
I can really hear a difference between my other 5.1s and 7.1. There a little too heavy, but I have a big head so thats not really a major concern. I would recommened this to any of my friends, neighbors, dogs, cats, or just basically anyone.

Cons: A little heavy at first, but it will fit in after a couple days of use.

Other Thoughts: The leather is pretty nice for a 49.99/59.99 headphones.

Pros: mic is okay - probably the best part of them
.

Cons: their TOO tight
they make you SWEAT!!!
can NOT hear outside noises/voices
they are so uncomfortable they wanna make you QUIT using the net w/ headphones. and voice calls from google is a downer... especially to long distance friends or family

Other Thoughts: i originally tested these as a newegg eggxpert review, and passed them off to my GF.
but since my Rosewills's took a clap, i have been STUCK with them and i have to say these things are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsI have big ears, and they fit.

Pros: Well I've had these for about two weeks now after my last headset was literally hanging from a wire. This is the first time I've spent more than $30 on a headset, and I must say I'm impressed. I wanted to go for one of the more expensive headsets, but I'm ballin' on a budget right now. My ears are a little bigger than the norm I think, and I was a little skeptical that the headphones wouldn't fit over my ears. But they do! I wear them for a few hours, but I've never owned a headset that hasn't hurt my ears after wearing them for a long period of time. But what is nice is I don't notice that they hurt until after I take them off. The padding is very comfortable all around, and they block sound fairly well. If I have my phone next to me on medium volume, I can't even hear that I get a text. Sound quality is also great, I say 8/10 but also remember that this is probably the highest quality headset I own. Chord extends longer than I need it to, so thats nice. Controls on the chord work as expected, couldn't ask for more.
I also read that there is a 3.5MM version of this headset, so be careful when ordering! I can never go back to 3.5MM, USB all the way. Hopefully this pair can last me about a year, I would be okay with that.

Cons: None that I can think of. I'm a casual gamer, who does want a quality headset. This hits the nail on the head, I couldn't ask for more.

Other Thoughts: If you're like me and haven't owned a quality headset, this is a great place to start. Just wish the 10% code was active when I bought it a few weeks ago. Thanks Corsair for quality stuff!

4 out of 5 eggsSounds nice, great price, but not recommended for... smaller people.

Pros: Sound quality, value, noise cancelling, mic quality

Cons: Very large, bulky

Other Thoughts: Let me start off the review by saying I'm VERY unlikely to be happy with a headset. I used a dinky Logitech G330 for years, but it finally broke. I liked that headset mostly because it was lightweight and accommodating to a variety of head and ear sizes. It appears that this headset is discontinued and is being sold at ridiculously inflated prices as a refurb. I have tried other headsets of that type (which generally tend to be cheap-o), and have been disappointed mostly with the mic quality. Since I use a fan to keep cool, noise cancelling is pretty important. That being said, I've been pleased with this headset in that regard. Also, the virtualized surround sound is something I desire, mostly due to the benefits it brings to online gaming. You can truly sense enemy position by sound, and as someone who reacts better to sound than to visuals, that' a very handy feature. However, this headset is just way too big and heavy for me. The bottom of the ear cups rest uncomfortably on my jawbone and they squeeze my whole face. I'm an odd case-- my ears are a tiny bit larger than a quarter, but my head is a normal size for an adult woman. So it's very unlikely that I would be happy with a headset. I've tried many and honestly it doesn't seem like there's ANYTHING out there for me. Might consider making a frankenstein-like custom creation. I partake in long-term gaming sessions (sometimes 8+ hrs at a time), almost always requiring voice chat. Fortunately, the noise cancellation and range is pretty nice on the mic, and I can wear it around my neck and use external speakers with no feedback.

I was attracted to this headset due to the complaints of the ear cups being small. Turns out I require comments of the "WTH WERE THEY THINKING THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WITH HOLES ON THE SIDE OF THEIR HEAD" variety, which I have yet to find.

I'm no audiophile when it comes to sound quality over a headset. I'm mostly listening to gunshots and spell SFX, and tinny voices over Ventrilo, so I don't require studio-quality sound. However, I have no gripes about the sound quality. The surround is fantastic from a practical standpoint. If you have normal-sized head and ears and are on a budget, I would definitely recommend these. Let me add that the nice, juicy wire seems pretty office chair wheel-resistant, if that's something that's important to you.

Additionally, if anyone's familiar with any itty-bitty, over-the ear surround sound headsets (my ear holes are small too and earbuds cause MASSIVE discomfort), please comment and let me know!!

3 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Looks good, for price you pay.

Cons: Bulky size, mediocre sound quality. Microphone arm joint broke within 5 minutes of use, cheap plastic. But easily fixed that with some electrical tape and now it is probably stronger than it was.

Other Thoughts: For 60 bucks...not bad. They feel more like $40 though. Gosh every single pair of gaming headsets I have ever owned have broken quickly, even some expensive turtle beaches, they all seem to be made with weak materials. My studio ath m50s on the other hand have been used almost everyday for the past 3 years...

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was looking for

Pros: Sounds fantastic. I wasn't looking for an epic $400 pair of audiophile approved headphones. I was looking for a decent headset to replace my Sennheiser PC 161's that crapped out on me after many years of gaming. Unfortunately, Sennheiser doesn't have an affordable headset now, that matches the quality of the PC 161's. And I wasn't going to spend over $100. This headset delivered. The simulated 7.1 surround is very cool. I play FPS and MMO games, and I could tell the difference right away. Directional audio is very accurate. I have an average sized head, and these were definitely tighter than the Sennheisers when I first put them on. But they loosened up after about 3 days. I wear them for about 3-4 hours continuously on raid nights with little to no discomfort, and I wear glasses.

Cons: Slightly tight on the head when fresh out of the package. However they loosened up nicely after a few days.

Other Thoughts: Great headset, at a great price-point. I would definitely recommend them.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product but could use a little umph

Pros: -Great sound! I saw a review that said its too loud and he/she has to put it at 25% volume and put that as a con. I don't see that at all as a con.
-fit tightly around my head, i dont know what head size i am but I think they will be confortable for most. Someone also said that it hurt there ear, it does the same for me only because i put one of the speakers to the side so i can hear if someone is calling me or something.
-this brings me to another pro, noise cancelation is great with these, I can barely hear my voice if i im playing a game!
-at least for me, they feel great on my head, everything is comfortable and they feel like pillows pressed against my ears, a little over exaggeration there. I have been wearing these for a over 5 hours with some breaks and they feel good. except the ear part, which would happen to any headset you get.

Cons: - I think they could of done better with the bass, with a little swithing some options around its somewhat good but still could be a lot better.
-The red on the outside (the pad that goes around your head and on the outside of the speakers) should be brighter instead of a maroon colour. it doesnt really match the inside red which is like a hot rod red. just my opinion, i dont mind all that much though!

Other Thoughts: These great for the money, I bought these at $40 and I think thats what they should cost instead of the regular $60. The only bad part would be the hurting the ear part which all you need to do is shift it a little forward or backwards and its fine for the next 2 hours.

Honestly, theres no such thing as a perfect pair of headsets. I recommend these fully to anyone. I wouldnt listen to the people with one or two star reviews saying that something broke and therefor they give one star and dont even realize they can RMA it. Its not that hard and if you are a good person then you can effin wait!

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Sound but they pickup other sounds

Pros: Very Comfortable (1 star) Decent Sound for price (1 star)

Cons: Picks up local radio station even when nobody has radio on in house and is wired. It is very faint but noticeable (-1 star) Also audio cuts out occasionally...so ya (-2 stars)

Other Thoughts: Competitive pricing for the 7.1 surround sound, maybe i got a bad pair, I dunno but Im going to leave the audio for my next years to a company a little more established, even if pricing is a little higher.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty great.

Pros: 1) 7.1 Surround
2) Decent mic quality
3) Great sound quality

Cons: 1) It is really loud. I had to turn my volume to %25~
2) Its a little flimsy. The rubber covering over the microphone fell off after I dropped it once.

Other Thoughts: All in all, a really good headset for gaming

3 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: USB
Good mic
Long cord
Good sound
Volume and mute controls are in a good place on the cord

Cons: VERY uncomfortable
Red or maroon doesn't match with many other products

Other Thoughts: I had to stop using these because they just hurt my head so bad. After about 30-60 minutes my ears start hurting and I can't keep them on. So if you have a big head I would suggest avoiding these.
