5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset overall!

Pros: - Amazing sound for both gaming and music.
- Great microphone quality.
- Comfortable.
- Very easy to use.
- The volume scroll wheel on the side and it's capability of being wireless is very useful.
- Microphone ignores a lot of the background noise.

Cons: - When the microphone is too far from my mouth, my voice would be very quiet and others would have a difficult time hearing me, causing me to either bend the microphone closer to my mouth or use a separate mic.
- I recommend a windscreen due to the "boom" sound that the microphone picks up.

Other Thoughts: I've had these headphones for longer than a year now and they are very great headphones overall.

1 out of 5 eggsGARBAGE

Pros: Sounds good, when they work

Cons: Audio cuts out, 2 feet from the transmitter - frequently - these have always been bugged. Both sets. I truly believe Corsair enjoys making garbage products. We will stay far far away from this brand in the future. Poor design. Poor QA. Consistent across their product line as of late.

Other Thoughts: What happened to your company? The Corsair brand used to be the earmark of high quality. Not anymore.

1 out of 5 eggsUpset and disappointed

Pros: It's wireless.
I really enjoy the design.
The headset is extremely comfortable, Just wished it rested a little tighter around the ears.

Cons: Well for starters. This did not come with any sort of instructions. And unbeknownst to me it was refurbished, which I do not remember seeing any sort of notification that it would be in the first place. Considering how much I was paying, I fully expected a brand-new head set. I was wrong to expect so.

2. The right headset speaker is lose and cackles as soon as I go to use the headset, if I move the headset I hear what appears to be a connecting type sound in the headset, as in a physical connection being reestablished because the cackle goes away and the sound is fine. That was annoying to find right away.

3. Then, because of no instruction booklet, I was forced to scour the internet when, on my second day of use, the headset refused to pair with the dongle. I attempted moving to several different USB. After seeing notification the software was successfully installed, it still would not pair. Go to search devices to find it has installed itself as Avnera AV7300. I know this has been an issue in the past as I found other users who have encountered the same issue.

4. When I found an FAQ about manually pairing, I go to follow instructions only to find that this "recessed pairing button" mentioned in the FAQ DOES NOT EXIST in the dongle. So it seems like it was not refurbished properly, or they forgot to install this button because shining a light where the button is supposed to be reveals an empty spot and I can see inside the dongle.

Other Thoughts: I have not had a headset for quite sometime because my other Creative Alpha pair broke after two sets of them broke the same exact way. Faulty production it would seem. SO I was pumped to try this Corsair product after choosing them over Logitech's Wireless option. I am not impressed. I looked into the seller's review to discover many other very unhappy customers with various issues.

Needless to say. I will be leaving this same review on their Newegg section as well as emailing Newegg to inquire about getting a new pair from a different seller.

Edit: It would appear that the item is out of stock. great.

5 out of 5 eggsGoodnight, sweet prince.

Pros: Anything you could think of. This has been by far the best headset I have ever owned.

Tremendously great sound quality.
Great Wireless Range
Comfortable Ear Pads
Excellent Mic that cancelled nearly all of my background noise (with a window mounted ac unit, about 5 or 6 dogs, a nagging wife and her sister that is pretty impressive)
Easy to charge
and a 10 hour battery life

This headset gave me 2 years of service. 2 years of raging, childish tantrums, endless frustrations, about a million cherished moments of happiness and elation.

superb. I would have bought it again if it weren't out of stock.

Cons: Nothing is perfect, and I will say these problems didn't start until 7 months ago, and it still kept going.

The charger port on the headset came lose, this was it's ultimate demise. one day i noticed the charger wouldn't set right. and a few months later it would just fall right out. i had to put it a certain way to get it to charge (which by this point i was more than happy to do because i LOVED THIS HEADSET and REALLY didn't want to have to replace it)
and a good long while after that (like 4 months i think) it wouldn't charge period.

another problem, which I didn't mind too much even from day one, was that it was pretty heavy. when you've been wearing it for a while you don't notice it. and once you've had them for a while, you're just used to it so it doesn't bother you. but for some this might be an issue.

one problem though i can think of that wasn't my fault (it happened about a week or so in) is the mic got REALLY loose. it wouldn't stay up by itself anymore. if i so much as tilted my head while it was up it would fall all the way down to the open position. I was gonna contact support but i had lost my paperwork, so i decided to just deal with it (my choice)

Other Thoughts: as mentioned above I loved the heck out of this headset, the issues i encountered with the charger port may have very well been my issue. and honestly the issue with the mic wasn't horrible. inconvenient but not horrible.

take a chance, buy it. i promise it's worth it.

2 out of 5 eggsWorst Software.

Pros: Decent sound quality, good microphone. Headset has held up fine. Battery is fine, range is acceptable.

Cons: Software and drivers. Corsair has absolutely the worst software department I can imagine. They removed the ability to adjust the microphone loopback that allows you to hear yourself, so you will feel like a deaf person while talking at first. They take FOREVER to update drivers, and never respond to their customers. If you can avoid this product, DO SO ON THE BASIS OF THEIR POOR SOFTWARE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE. I have their K70 RGB keyboard as well, and it has bloated, inefficient software that is far less than promised.

Other Thoughts: Could be great. Another product ruined by Corsair's software department. If only corporate geniuses used their own products or gave a hoot, they'd have fired the whole team by now.

5 out of 5 eggsBest headset I've ever owned

Pros: -Excellent range
-8 hours battery (continuous usage)
-Comfortable for long periods of time
-Charge while using
-Sound quality

Cons: No VOIP buttons
Slow charging off USB
Somewhat heavy
Build quality leaves a little to be desired

Other Thoughts: I work in a call center, and needed something to block out the sound of the office around me so I could focus on my customers. This accomplishes that quite well with the added benefit of being able to pipe music in as well. I use these all day, every day.

I have the dongle mounted on the divider of my cubicle so it's up about chest height, and I can get nearly 100 feet away without even line of sight before it starts cutting out intermittently.

The battery lasts 8 hours before the warning tone starts beeping in my ear. Every day, without fail. However, you can plug the headset in to charge while using them with no disruption.

Also with the microfiber/memory foam & magic that they've made the ear cups out of with these, they are super comfortable all day. My ears don't get hot. It's also very comfortable with my glasses. Though, I admit it is a little heavy after a while.

The sound quality is awesome. I watch movies on my lunch breaks and listen to music most of the day, sometimes cranked pretty loud. It has punchy bass that isn't overwhelming of the mids as well as strong highs that aren't piercing. Some of my customers have even mentioned that I sound more "full" than most of my colleagues, and they're on $300 Plantronics headsets.

My only major gripe, especially being in a call center, is the lack of an "answer" button. This does have a volume knob on the headset, which is handy. But this could really use a answer/disconnect button and a mute button would be nice. Especially since the range is good enough to get far enough away to miss a phone call (Super bad juju in a call center...).

Though it charges a bit slow off the USB, it can completely power from the USB so you don't have to worry about it dying.

My mic, after a solid 6 months X 45 hrs a week of use, is getting a little loose. Apparently you can open these up and tighten the screw and it's fine. But it's worth mentioning. I've also read that the headband is prone to cracking where the ear cups mount if you're too rough. I always hold the band above this point to put them on, and I've had no problems.

In the end, if you have the cash for this headset, get it. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggs2000 vs. 2100

Pros: Great headset for PC gaming, music and movies
durable joints
Dolby Pro Logic IIx certification
Deep bass without distortions

Cons: Not true Dolby 7.1
Two speakers

Other Thoughts: I’ve owned the Corsair Vengeance 2000 (the prior edition of this headset) for just over a year now, and it’s been a great headset for PC gaming, music and movies. But it had one known flaw: the hinges/swivel points (joints) were weak, which caused many of them to break. Thankfully this never happened to me, but it was a big enough of a concern for Corsair to come out with a replacement headset.

The new one, this 2100, has few differences from the 2000, but the most important is the redesigned and more durable joints. There’s also the all dark look over the previous chrome and the all new Dolby Pro Logic IIx certification (although that was added to the 2000 as well). Both use a micro USB cable for charging (which I prefer over the more dated mini USB that other headsets still use).

It’s important to note that these are not true Dolby 7.1 (or even 5.1) headsets. They are stereo headsets with two 50mm drivers. Meaning two speakers, one for each ear. Not multiple speakers like some other gaming headphones use. Instead, the Corsair Vengeance relies on Xear software to emulate surround sound. Keep in mind that this software doesn’t come in the box, so you’ll need to download it from Corsair'’s website. You can plug the headset in and rely on Window’s Plug and Play drivers, but the headphones will only achieve stereo sound by doing so. Therefore, I strongly suggest installing the Corsair' software. The nice thing about running in software is that you can more easily tweak the sound settings to your liking.

The 2100 can produce good deep bass without distortions, but the sealed-back earcups aren’t the best at blocking external noise. The battery lasts for around 10 hours, and can be charged while wearing.

Overall, both the 2000 and 2100 are great headsets to own. If you have a chance to chose between them, I’d recommend the 2100 if only for the more sturdy build.

1 out of 5 eggsAnother Corsair fail

Pros: Cool looking, comfortable.

Cons: Stopped working after 3 days of use. Returning to vendor asap. I cannot believe I took another chance with a Corsair product. Have one of their led gaming keyboards with 12 led's out. Gaming mouse with faulty software so I can not program the extra buttons and a Corsair power supply that was DOA right out of the box and they charged me $30 to send it back for a replacement.

Other Thoughts: Never again.

4 out of 5 eggshow to fix hiss

Pros: Strong mic

Cons: Almost to strong, see other comments to fix it

Other Thoughts: The mic is default to really sensitive and has a playback so you can hear yourself but that hiss does not normally transmit over the computer. So to fix the "hiss" just change mic sensitivity to a comfortable level and say good bye to the hiss.
