The Vengeance 1500 v2 7.1/5.1 Dolby Gaming Headset gives you a compelling gaming experience with the accurate audio imaging you need if you’re playing to win.

  • newegg Built-In Dolby Headphone Multi-Channel Audio The remarkable Dolby Headphone technology accurately reproduces multi-channel gaming audio for precise situational awareness and the competitive edge you can only get through positional audio. It also helps reduce "headphone fatigue", which is essential if you play competitively or if you just enjoy playing for hours at a time.
  • newegg Amazing Sound The massive 50mm drivers greatly reduce the overloading and distortion that can occur with gaming headsets that use smaller drivers that aren’t up to the task. You’ll get more accurate sound reproduction, particularly for the all-important low-frequency effects.
  • newegg Superior Comfort The extra-wide, extra deep earcups make the Vengeance 1500 v2 feel as good as it sounds. The memory foam earpads with microfiber covers provide a comfortable and reliable fit that conforms to the contours of your head without binding or pinching.
  • newegg Noise-Cancelling Microphone The unidirectional, noise-cancelling microphone is tuned to capture your voice loudly and clearly, while screening out extraneous noise from outside your game. Said all you have to say? It’s easy to flip the mic out of sight when not in use.
  • newegg Built for Gaming The circumaural, closed-back design blocks distracting sounds and keeps your head in the game, and the extra-large inline volume and microphone control is easy to grab and use when the action heats up — you don't need to take your eyes off the screen.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Headset

Pros: Working from home I do a lot of video conferencing so I constantly have these things one. The sound quality is excellent, and the noise cancelling is very good.
The ear pads are very comfortable, except for one item noted below.

Cons: Because I wear the headset so much I find that the ear pads don't have enough breathing as my ears get pretty hot after a few hours. Nothing that simply removing for 10 minutes or so doesn't solve, but something to mention.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend these to any of my friends.

2 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with windows 8.1

Pros: Looks stylish, well built, nice braided cord. Sound was pretty good too when running on my buddies computer that was running windows 7. Mic sounded decent too.

Cons: Drivers for this device are incompatible with windows 8.1 which is what my comp is running. No point in having a volume switch when the volume already sounds way too high, I cant have the volume any higher then 2% or it sounds like my ear drums would explode. Also, I'm always getting some sort of white noise when nothing is even being played or creating sound on computer, I guess just having the sound run idle. Sounds kind of like low static.

Other Thoughts: If you are running windows 8.1 I wouldn't recommend these. When I had these on my friends computer which is running windows 7, I didn't have any issues with the volume, although the white noise was still there though. I kept these for little over a week messing with drivers and also trying to find work-arounds to see if I could either fix them or possibly get used to them, but nothing.

We're sorry to hear that your having troubles with the Vengeance 1500. 5 out of 5 eggsGreat 7.1 Headset

Pros: Very nice looking headset, and solidly constructed. The mic boom is solid, but can swivel up and out of the way. 7.1 works as advertised, and Corsair's software utility is great. A great deal if you can get it on sale (like I did) as it is being phased out in favor of the newer revision.

*Disclaimer, this is my first 7.1 headset, and I'm not a terrible audiophile. So while this was a huge step up from my older stereo headset, I'm probably not the best source to compare this to other mainstream gaming headsets, as far as comparative sound quality goes. It's light-years better than a cheap 2.0 setup, that is for sure, and mine didn't have any obvious buzzing, feedback, or other sound issues.*

Cons: Can get uncomfortable on top of the head during extended (hours+) gaming sessions, but pulling the speakers down a little bit further for extra space and slightly rotating where the bar sits took care of it easily enough. The ear covers themselves are very comfy, even with my glasses on.

Discontinued in favor of a newer model with a worse color scheme (yellow) and that obnoxious new Corsair gaming series logo that looks like the worst un-ironic drunk dude-bro tribal tattoo ever...

Other Thoughts: Couldn't get the software for this initially form Corsair's site, as it has been discontinued in favor of the aforementioned newer version. However the software for it's replacement still recognizes this headset and works perfectly fine with it. A minor hiccup, and not worth docking an egg for.

3 out of 5 eggsGood while they lasted.

Pros: - Can get very loud, preserves quality
- Very useful drivers
- Very sturdy, you can drop em and they'll be fine (most of the time)

Had them for a total of 7 months before the right speaker started dieing for no reason. R.I.P

Cons: - Sound Control for headset is the weakest part of the entire headset sadly.
- Swivel mic after awhile will no longer keep its grip a simple bump will cause it go fully released

What I mean by this is I'm assuming the the few drops it had and the few yanks (maybe 1-3 pounds of pressure) caused the cabling of the connector of the sound control to become loose and broke one the usage of the left ear.

- Fuzzy/Constant high pitch noise generated by the headset...
If you buy these be aware that you will know exactly what I'm talking a bit, after you stop listening to audio for a bit you'll hear a constant high-pitch/fuzziness come from it until you start some audio back up and it disappears.

Other Thoughts: I'd recommend this headset but the weakest part sadly is the cabling it turns out, if the USB gets yanked a few times you'll be lucky if it doesn't break the cabling connecting the headset and volume control.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible Drivers

Pros: *Comfortable

*Decent Sound Quality

*Cheap-ish

Cons: *Terrible Drivers Support - I owned this headset for about 6 months before they came out with drivers for it, which from as far as I can tell do absolutely nothing. IF you own Windows 8 DO NOT buy this headset. Plug and play drivers installed twice on my system causing multiple problems multiple times including noticeable slow downs.

*Mic - The mic has sucked from day one, you have to turn it all the way up just to get people to hear you. Again, driver support is terrible.

*Sound volume - The sound volume was extremely high at first, I had to turn in game volumes to half or less. Drivers may have fixed this issue.

Other Thoughts: Overall I bought this headset because it was cheap and payed for it. I would buy a headset from a better supported company that is known for their audio and spend an extra 100$ than ever own this headset again due to all the problems I've had with it and terrible driver support.

3 out of 5 eggsWhine issue, some models?

Pros: Sounds quality is excellent. Comfort is superb. Build quality is very sturdy. It had everything going for it. Support was pleasant to work with. But alas...

Cons: If I launch any application that uses a mic - including control panel - sounds - recordings tab - or things like Teamspeak 3, I get a low level, high pitched whine. It is not something that only "some" ears would hear. It is notable. Apparently this is a known issue on the forums. Some report being able to fix it by removing the corsair drivers and installing the Windows generic USB driver instead, so that you can mute the "line" volume. This did not work for me. I called support to see if they had a quick fix. They were very helpful, but were not aware of the issue. I will need to RMA it. I am sad. I really liked this headset on all other counts. Im not sure if I want to risk another one.

Other Thoughts: My last headset was Corsair. I liked it.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Mic

Pros: Fits. Has bass. 50mm drivers.

Cons: Mic is very very low in quality, you have to yell at it anev with volume up all the way.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy if your reason for needing includes having a nice working mic, that doesn't require yelling.

2 out of 5 eggsFun while it lasted

Pros: Clear Sound, Great Mic

Cons: Only lasted 9 Months before they stopped working
Insanely loud
Caused weird interference when using team speak and Vent

Other Thoughts: I really enjoyed this head set aside from how loud it was until it stopped working. I'm really disappointed with how long they last, for the price you would expect them to at least last a year. I keep all my computer equipment in good repair and take very good care of all of it, its disappointing to see this headset fail so early.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid for the price!

Pros: It has 7.1 Surround sound what else can you say.

Cons: Personally I find the 2.0.26 drivers inferior to the 1.1, the 2.0.26 drivers cause the sound to be muffled.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Headset/Bad Software

Pros: As far as quality of the headset goes it's ok. Decent sound quality, no real problem

Cons: The Software that is used to change EQs does not work for most people. Once the program is downloaded it will not start and no shortcut is provided. If you go into you files and try to start it by opening the file, it will blink and never start up.

Other Thoughts: The problem really lies with Corsair's Program not the headset.
