4 out of 5 eggsA Clear Winner

Pros: Clear Audio In and out.
Comfortable
Long Braided cable
Loud enough both on audio and mic

Cons: HOT. Memory foam is comfortable but it retains all the heat. I had to take it off once per hour just to blow the heat out of it.

Too much plastic, this device could have done with a little metal in its build. Yes its very light, but it also feels flimsy at the joints.

(personal) The volume control is at an awkward length from the headset, it ended up getting smashed between myself and the desk, myself and the chair or just nudged in general changing my volume or muting me unpredictably.

Volume is finicky; The in-line controller is awkward in that a very small adjustment is a very loud change. However, it works well with people who set up every program's volume individually such as streamers, or YouTubers.

The light from the in-line control is BRIGHT. In a dark unlit room, it will provide enough light to move about the room with.

Other Thoughts: I'm a bit of an audiophile, but I'm on a budget. I love crystal clear audio and I love good comfortable headsets.

This headset fit my awkwardly large and oddly shaped head like a glove. the volume was good as I set up all my audio individually. To be fair, I'd rather it be too loud, as so often claimed, since that means you can turn it down, you can't boost one that is too quiet after all.

Defective but not dead upon arrival:
The left earcup's joint had a wire sticking out of it causing it to pinch the wire, creek and eventually break the cup from the headband.

After 1 year the headband separated (cracked away) from the left earcup, forcing me to use their 2-year manufacturer warranty. However, their customer service seems on the spot and is much easier to deal with then the 3-year replacement plan I purchased with the product from Newegg.

Why 4 and not 5 stars?
A 5-star rating is hard to earn with me, And since it came to me with a fault, and eventually had to be replaced before the warranty was up, it fell short of perfection. However, this is a seriously fantastic headset, I used it well and truly over 2500 hours since I work at my computer. I can not fault them for giving out after so many hours put in, but I can fault the shoddy quality control for missing the eventually fatal imperfection. If not for the good customer service of Corsair themselves, I'd not have given them 4 but instead a 3-star rating.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't sound clear at all

Pros: Set up was incredibly easy

Cons: It doesn't sound good at all.
Sounds muddy and unclear.
There is this terrible hissing sound in mine. Tried alot of suggestions and it was still there
Sound would cut out every once in a while.
And for some reason it is stupid loud. Music hurt even at 2%. Go for something else, I returned it same day.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth

Pros: Comfortable

Cons: Mic is very quiet
Audio is crazy loud

Other Thoughts: I have had this head set for just over a year now and after that year i regret buying this. As a head set this is just an awful product. The mic is to quiet, the audio is TOO LOUD and because the audio is too loud it ruins any program specific setting. My Windows system volume bounces between 2 and 6 based on what I'm doing so when ever I bring the master volume down it reduces EVERY THINGS volume. So half the time I launch launch a game or watch YouTube it's volume is 0. another volume related issue I've had is that even even at the the lowest possible system volume I can get (2) every game I play at the default volume settings are too high to be comfortable. At first I thought I could deal with it but now I just want want to throw my head set against the wall. Save your money and buy something else.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid purchase

Pros: The memory foam ear pads make for a very comfortable feeling. Sound quality is great.

Cons: I have a small head and no hair and found them to not quite get as small as I'd have liked. I'm used to that, though, so it's not so bad.

5 out of 5 eggsGood headset

Pros: Comfortable, adjustable, nice colors. Good sound quality. Microphone works well enough, and it works with PS4s. The braided cord is pretty nice. Volume buttons still work wellon mine, and Ive had them about six months.

Cons: When the mic is muted, there's a soft buzzing sound, which can be kind of obnoxious. The lights on the volume are super bright, which is also annoying. Other than that my only real concern is that the bottom part of the volume is starting to mess up, and the braided cover is starting to pull away and show the wires. If it goes bad, I bought the warranty, so Im okay. And I can also chalk this up to how much I use them, since the past few months I've often even been sleeping in them, which yes they are comfortable enough to do. Also it seems kinda hard to clean the yellow part of the cups.

Other Thoughts: I really like these. I didn't want to spend the big money on something like a logitech, but these were well worth it. Would buy again if I had to.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Headphones, Not a good Headset...

Pros: 7.1 works, mostly. Decent bass. Comfortable around the ears. Good quality braided cord. Good quality packaging.

Cons: +Microphone:
Useless... It's too quiet!! Check the Corsair forums and you will see this issue all over the place.

Warning: Do NOT buy this headset if you will be primarily using this headset at night when people are sleeping. No one will hear you.

People should not have to turn my individual volume up on Teamspeak/Mumble/etc. to hear me even after I have max'ed all other possibilities to boost the input volume. I had this same issue with the Corsair Vengeance 1500. Shame on me, this time. I thought it might be an isolated issue or some conflict with Windows 7. Nope.

+Volume Control:

Volume control is so disproportionate it's a wonder it even passed QA. It's either OFF or LOUD. Luckily I have a keyboard with a volume control dial to fine tune it between 12% to 35% max... and I listen to my music fairly loud. You could almost use this headset as a replacement for small desktop speakers instead. Don't even bother trying to adjust the volume with the pendant.

+Pendant:

The placement of the pendant while wearing the headset is on or slightly above my belly button and I'm 6 ft. tall. This is of course exactly where my shelf slides out of my desk for my keyboard and mouse, so if I don't toss this cord over my shoulder or clip it to something I'm constantly changing the volume if I reach for something on my desk.

Annoying...

BUT.. Not as annoying as the Red/Blue constant flashing LED's when the mic is muted. You could throw this sucker on top of your car, mute the mic, and pull someone over because they had mistaken you for a cop it's so bright!

+Software/Drivers:

The recent version is somehow worse than when I had the 1500 Vengeance headset. Not sure how they accomplished this.

Other Thoughts: Corsair has treated me well with their other products. It's really a shame their headsets don't match the same level of quality I depended on them for.
