4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Mouse, Middle Mouse Button Click is Bugged.

Pros: Good Mouse, Good Colors, Nice extra buttons, Overall Looks and feels nice.

Cons: Middle Mouse wheel click is bugged after 4 months use. When I press it down sometimes, it doesn't register, which a big inconvience to me because a few games that I play uses this button a lot.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Tons of programmable buttons to use
Extremely accurate
Customizable colors are great
Well built

Cons: Coming from a Logitech G5 (still one of the best mice I have ever owned), I thought that the mouse may be a bit too light. Then again that may just be personal preference.

Other Thoughts: Like all other Corsair products, such as their RAM, PSUs, and computer cases, this product is manufactured with their usual excellent manner using strict quality control measures to ensure it lives up to its reliability in order to last for many years of use.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The mouse works exactly as I intended. Great for light gaming and general PC usage. The lights are bright and offer a wide array of color choices, and the amount of adjustments you can make via the Utility Engine is fantastic.

Cons: I owned the mouse for a little over a week, when the lighting features began to all change to purple hues. I checked on the Utility Engine and it still showed I had my color choices set. The only way to revert the colors was to give the mouse a solid tap, but even that is temporary and reverts to purple shortly after. I should note that the performance of the mouse was not affected in any way. Corsair customer service was great however, and sent out a new mouse prior to receiving my defective one.

3 out of 5 eggsHas its ups and downs

Pros: The mouse can be customized to fit you perfectly.
Designed for smaller hands.
The color combos are endless.
The software could be amazing.
The change of sensitivity on the mouse itself is amazing. Good idea.

Cons: Most of all the software.
You can do almost anything, but it will take you years to figure everything out

The right click is a little off. I don't mind it, but at times I will mis click.

Other Thoughts: When the software is fixed up and updated a bit, this really is not a terrible mouse for the price. It won't fit everyone. And the corsair design will turn a lot of people away.

3 out of 5 eggsAn Underwhelming Experience

Pros: - Stylish Aesthetics
- Great Package Design
- Smooth & Textured Scroll Wheel
- Braided USB Cable

The outside packaging is a bit basic and normal however when you open the box the way the plastic housing for the mouse integrates with the cardboard packaging has been thought out thoroughly. Everything fits together like a simple puzzle (oxymoron?). No space is wasted and it is very easy to re-package as well.

It's an intermediate level gaming mouse so the aesthetics are designed to suit that demographic and function. That being said, it has enough customizable LEDs on it to entertain a little kid for a long time....! The shape of the mouse is great for larger hands as it has a lot of surface area and the buttons click pretty effortlessly. My favorite thing about this mouse is the scroll wheel. It has a nice texture which allows your finger to grip it very easily. It feels really natural when scrolling and is comfortable.

Cons: - Cheap plastic feeling
- Extremely Lightweight.... too light
- Requires software to be installed for extra features
- Will not operate off of keyboard USB ports

The worse thing about this mouse is how cheap it feels for the price. It feel horribly underweight and the materials would reflect that. There is nothing that gives this mouse a durable feeling. The plastic seems thin and if ever got dropped on the floor more than a few times I would expect it to break or crack. I prefer heavier mice so I might be a little bias with that aspect but even for mice that are light this just feels like that could be an issue with use.

Another bad aspect of this mouse is that it requires more power than your standard mouse. I can not connect it to my G15 keyboard ports as it will not function. The other issue is that software is required to customize the LEDs that isn't included in the box.

Other Thoughts: If you like really light-weight mice and can catch this mouse on sale then this might be the choice for you. I wouldn't get this if you prefer heavy mice.

3 out of 5 eggsFollow Up Review

Pros: Very accurate control....at first
Same Pros as my last review with one exception...see Cons.

Cons: This is a great mouse as I stated before, and as many have stated in these reviews, however there is a strange glitch developing. Randomly, the mouse behaves strange, out of the blue, the cursor begins to jump around for no reason, then settles back down again after a few movements on the screen. The odd thing is that I cannot determine if this is a Windows issue or the mouse it self. It wouldn't be so bad if this only happened while surfing the web or working on a document, but it happens sometimes while working in Photoshop, and thus it's accuracy is greatly diminished!

Other Thoughts: My first impressions of this mouse where 100 percent positive, and it is still a very good mouse, but because of this strange jumping of the cursor now, it gets 2 eggs knocked off!
If this jumping was a regular thing, I would think it was a matter of re installing it etc.
Maybe someone will say, it's the mouse pad, well I don't know, I use the Corsair gaming mouse pad that is supposed to give the best mouse surface available, but still there is this odd jumping.

4 out of 5 eggsMy new favorite

Pros: Lots of programmable buttons to take advantage of.
Have larger hands that fit well on the mouse.
customization of colors.
Scroll wheel has a nice amount of friction.
Slides well on all different types of mousepads.
Extra button placement is decent for large hands.

Cons: Cannot change the color of the selected dpi as far as I know.
Corsair software is not the easiest software in the world to use.
size of the use connection could be an issue for some people.

Other Thoughts: Over all I love the mouse I do wish that you could customize the led colors for the dpi selector but maybe that can be added in. It took a little getting used to just like anything new but after using it for a couple of months I would never go back and I am exceptionally happy with my purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsNice mouse, some random issues

Pros: A good looking mouse and feels good in the hand. The cable is braided and pretty long which helped when maneuvering it through my desk. I'm replacing a Wireless Logitech G700.

At first I didn't like how light this mouse was, as I was used to the heavier Logitech mouse, but I grew to appreciate it and it definitively helped my gaming. On top of that the on the fly DPI adjustment helped my accuracy for headshots in Dying Light and that was a big plus for me.

The lighting feature is nice and I appreciate being able to customize the color scheme from the logo to the mouse-wheel.

The buttons are solid, nice and clicky. I like that it doesn't need software, and on Windows 7 all the buttons are recognized. The scrolling is smooth and accurate, like I said earlier being able to adjust the DPI on the fly is useful, and not only for FPS and RTS games, I've used it to help in photoshop when cropping images.

It's also a tough mouse, I've dropped it a few times without any incident.

Cons: Ok, I love this mouse, but there are some cons. I'll start with when the computer is off, the mouse stays illuminated, this can grow annoying if you have your PC in your bedroom. There should be a physical switch on the mouse to turn off the lighting completely.

When I reboot my computer the mouse defaults the 2nd lowest DPI setting causing my initial interaction with Windows to be very slow. This only happens if you have the Corsair Lighting software installed.

I had an incident where the mouse buttons stopped reacting to my button presses. I thought this was an issue with Windows, but I plugged in another mouse and it worked well. After a reboot the Corsair's buttons still didn't react, so I just re-installed the mouse software. After that the mouse started acting normally again and I haven't had an issue since.

The only part of the design of the mouse I dislike is the tacky logo Corsair has decided to use on this mouse. It looks like something out of Kingdom Hearts and looks completely out of place on a PC gamer's accessory and downright inappropriate in a business environment(Like I said before, this mouse is amazing with photoshop). I prefer the Three Ships logo, I've had a lot of Corsair products in my life and the Three Ships logo always inspired the feeling of quality, reliability and adventure. This new logo feels like the opposite.

Also, software is required in order to adjust the lighting and it isn't included, but you can easily download it.

Other Thoughts: While I do have a few issues with this mouse, it really is a wonderful mouse. High quality plastic, solid feel, clicky buttons.

It has fully replaced my Logitech G700. While I grew used to having a wireless mouse, it was tethered to my PC more than not. This wasn't due to batterylife (though it could have been better) but because I rarely need my mouse away from my desktop.

The Corsair mouse is lighter (something I originally considered a con until extended use proved otherwise), and the FWD/BCK buttons work 100% of the time. I do miss the adjustable scrollwheel from the Logitech, but all the positives outweigh that.

This is a fantastic mouse overall, I recommend it. I'm knocking off half an egg for most of the cons I found and another half egg for that logo. It really is jarring for me to look at (you can turn off it's lighting), so if the logo isn't an issue for you consider this a four and a half star mouse. It is excellent.

3 out of 5 eggsDr. Jeckyl & Mr. Hyde

Pros: Effortless gliding on even the most inadequate surfaces, which is even better on a good mouse pad. This makes the tracking and accuracy of this mouse sublime.

Near silent movement across my Corsair Vengeance MM600 mouse pad. Much more quiet than my G700.

LED Customization is sweet; See Cons also.

More programming options for buttons than you may know what to do with. If you can think of a series of keystrokes, clicks, dips, movements, or button presses..than you can make it happen in a single click of a button.

Lightweight. This may come as a con to some, but I now find the Logitech G700 this mouse replaced as a bit cumbersome; though I do miss some of the features of the G700.

Crazy range of adjustable DPI; See Other Thoughts.

If you don't require the adjustable DPI, those buttons can be reassigned to other functions.

The 'Lift Height' option is a unique setting to be able to adjust; See other thoughts.

Lengthy braided USB cable doesn't catch or snag on anything; See Other Thoughts.

Matte finish barely shows any signs of use after nearly a month.

1000 reports a second, so it will never miss a precise move you are going to make.

Just the right amount of *click* for button presses.

Corsair quality as always.

Cons: It needs, at least, 2 more buttons. The left/right click should NOT be included in the '8 Programmable Buttons'. It is nice that the DPI buttons can be set to do something else, but if you want the adjustable DPI and you remove the left/rick click from the equation...then you have 1/2 of the claimed # of customizable buttons. If you're going to give me cake, I absolutely must be able to eat it.

Add a free-scrolling option for the mouse wheel!

Lack of left/right mouse wheel clicks.

A mouse should not have a 147 page user manual, wherein nearly 30 pages are dedicated to how to configure the LED lighting features.

Still haven't gotten the fancy gradient, ripple, and wave lighting effects to work.

As many others have noted the software is not easy to pickup without delving into the user manual. Granted the mouse has a lot of features, they could be much easier to implement.

186,412K memory usage?! What for? I have 16GB, but it is excessive when 8 Logitech processes together use less than half that memory amount; 78,836K.

The 'Lift Height' feature is very sensitive. So sensitive that when I set it on low I thought the mouse malfunctioned! The mouse fails to track at all on the 'rough' side of my MM600 with it set to low. I had to put the mouse on my desk for it to work again and change the setting to something higher. On the smooth side of the MM600, it is very, very choppy; Very strange that the mouse wouldn't work on Corsair's own pad at that setting.

USB plug is unnecessarily large and yellow.

I have the Corsair Utility Engine and Corsair Gaming Headset software installed. A box pops up from a cold boot telling me to update Corsair software, but it does not specify which one. I click the update button and it takes me to Corsair's driver page, but it doesn't automatically choose what needs updating. I had to go into MSConfig, disable the programs, and reboot to find out which one actually needed updating.

Why do I need two separate programs running? Why not just combine them into one and have a separate tab to choose?

The mouse defaults to the lowest DPI setting from a bold boot, but not immediately. When the desktop first comes up it is at my chosen setting of #4, but once the CUE loads it goes to the lowest setting automatically...it's annoying. Just realized the mouse doesn't have internal memory to store the settings, and this is likely the cause...get with the times Corsair!

This also means you can't take your mouse with all your exact settings somewhere else and use it.

Other Thoughts: Love the different LED color for current DPI setting.

I'm not an avid FPS player. I found that the default DPI #4 of 3000 to be adequate for everyday use and the games that I play.

Who actually runs 8200 DPI?

Some have commented on the resistance between notches when moving the wheel. I find this to be pretty alright for gaming, even though it took some getting used to. However, if you're trying to quickly scroll through something, it is annoying...it definitely needs a free-scrolling option like Logitech uses.

I haven't used a corded mouse in...I can't remember how long it's been LoL! I thought the cord was going to be a menace, but it is quite nice. The silky smooth braiding doesn't cause any drag whatsoever! The combination of its feather-weight status, effortless tracking, and the silky smooth cable make it feel like a wireless mouse.

The ergonomics are very different from the numerous Logitech mice that I own and have used over the past ~18 years. I thought this was going to be a hindrance, but Corsair surprised me again. It didn't take too long to get used it and now it feels quite alright.

I bet adjustable weight would be a nice option for some people. I initially thought the light weight was going to make things weird, but it's so darn smooth!

The loudness of the clicks seem identical to my G700. Quite glad it isn't any louder...that would have drove me nuts and caused me to throw this thing in a desk drawer for a very rainy day.

Simplify the software and Corsair has a gem!
