Question 1

When using this headset whilst charging, can the USB transceiver remain plugged in? If so, does the system have to be reconfigured to discover the headset through the alternate port, or does it just continue communicating with the transceiver?

Accepted Answer

The wireless receiver actually needs to remain plugged in for it to work. To specify, it will only communicate with the receiver, it will not connect and operate via a long charging cable plugged into your computer. I haven't had any issue with the system trying to find the headset after relocating the transceiver. I can confirm that it will operate while charging, I just hope you've got a usb cord long enough to reach!

I just plug mine in right before I turn my computer off, and it charges overnight. Overall I'm insanely satisfied with this headset. The ONLY issue I have with it, is a minor inconvenience, at times when I turn the headset on, it takes a little while for it to find the transceiver and actually connect. Usually just turning the headset off and back on again works just fine.

Question 2

I have a Corsair Vengeance 2000 headset broke where the earpiece connects into the headpiece, weak plastic socket joint. What assurances can you give me that this won't happen with the Void?

There isnt a joint with this headset, there isnt anything to break and its fully aluminum, BUT if you use this headset, be aware that A) The Microphone quality degrades over time and B) the ear pads the cover the speakers stretch and eventually start coming off and rotating easily. I wash my earpads regularly and that didnt aid the headset either.

Hi Matthew, I saw your question and the answer is yes, this headset with mic has full functionality, I have had it for quite awhile now and it works with all chat programs and Cortana aswell. I am on it every day speaking with people from around the world.

How do these headphones feel with glasses on after extended use?

I don't wear glasses, so unfortunately I can't answer that honestly. 
However, I can let you know that they are by far the most comfortable headset I have ever worn. Up until recently I have been using Creative Lab's Tactic3D Wrath, and those were amazing, and these blow them out of the water. I do think that they wouldn't hurt too badly at all, the earmuffs are incredibly soft and malleable, I don't think you'd have trouble at all.

The Corsair Utility Engine is pretty neat, you can manage your own EQ's, and there are 5 pre-set ones. You can cycle through them quickly by pressing in the volume switch on the side.

Battery life is.. I don't know, they haven't died. I got about 12 hours of gaming into them without plugging in and was at about 33%. They charge quickly, and have a decent range. I can walk about 30-40 feet away before they start to lose connection. If you turn off the lighting themes on the sides you can improve the battery life as well.

Is there any noticeable audio latency?

Audio, no.

Myself and a few friends have this headset and the o my issue we have is that the headset will sometimes take a look g while to reconnect if disconnected by distance or a dead battery.  So I recommend that you keep it within 20-30 feet of your rig. The range is nice though and they're the most comfortable headset I've used. Short of spending 300+ I've had all the wireless headsets.

What exactly is CUE control?

Cuesbare as molar to "profiles" where the mic, or volume or even headset color is set to a certain setting. The setting then are accessed from the devices driver software.

I own this headset and have since it released. Its quite good and very functional. The drivers and wireless hardware seem newer than that of the G930's. The cups are more comfortable for long periods and the headset is lighter in weight as well. Corsair hasn't made the best headsets for all around use since this particular set, and they nailed excellence with this one.

Will these headphones work on a Mac?
