5 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, should grab when it's on sale

Pros: -The Corsair Void is a very uniquely designed headset ( I like it a lot) with great sounding 50 mm drivers and a very good microphone.
-The only physical buttons on it are on the left ear cup, Press Mute and it will mute the mic, hold mute and it will mute the sidetone. There is also a rocker switch that when pushed up or down changes volume and when pressed it will go to your next EQ profile, holding the rocker switch down for a few seconds activates the dolby surround. The mic is a simple boom stick mic that is flexible but its like bending a slightly frozen mars bar so some strength is required, I listened to my voice on audacity and the mic is surprisingly nice and crisp but the sound of you breathing might be heard.

-The CUE software that controls the EQ and lighting is challenging to understand at first but eventually you get the hang of it. The software allows RGB lighting for the headset to match your other peripherals, or sync with other corsair products using the same software, Also you can change the EQ to you hearts content and then make up to 5 EQ profiles, very handy and easy to understand after playing around with the settings.

Cons: -Starting with the comfort, I wish the padding was velour or came with a velour set of earcups.
-With the aesthetics I love the shape and design, but the LED logo is unnecessary for people who don't see the point of them so maybe sell a USB version without them.
-With build quality the aluminum pieces are nice and solid but the rest of the headset is a little creaky if you flex it like putting it on your head. Also I wish the USB cable was detachable so we could replace it when its broken or to swap it for a braided version.
-The software needs to be simplified for people who have never used them before and also leave hints to specific features in the software and what they do and how to change them.
-The cable needs to be like half a meter longer at least and braided

Other Thoughts: I had trust issues with corsair after I bought the deafening H1500s, I have been stuck with them for months and about a month in the driver for it failed to launch so I tried to remove it but it wont delete, so I was stuck with a flat EQ with deafening sound, the only up side was the comfort of the headband and mic quality

The voids were on sale and cheaper than the other headsets I was planning on buying, I was hesitant with the Void at first because I wasn't sure if it would end up like my H1500s or if it would suprise me, I took the gamble because it was on sale... and the other one I wanted was sold out. After messing with the EQ and testing the mic on Audacity and I was amazed at the sound quality with my custom EQ and the lack of buzzing in my voice when testing the mic on Audacity.

I was glad to pick these up on sale and if you find one on sale I recommend getting it if you find them on sale too!

3 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, meh mic

Pros: So even though I did not purchase this product through Newegg, I got a great deal on it with my Dad's military discount at Best Buy. This headset has BEAUTIFUL sound quality. The surround sound is amazing, I feel like I am in a movie theater. And it is incredibly comfortable. Great with glasses.

Cons: So this headset may seem great the mic kinda stinks. I was just recording a Minecraft video with my friend and I was just recording it for fun, not even sure if I want to post it because when I listened to myself in the commentary, I sound very quiet. I have my mic volume all the way up and it didn't help while my friend sounds loud and clear. He never said anything about me being to quiet because that kind of thing doesn't bother him. Also I did say that it is a comfortable headset but after awhile it weighs down on your ears and hurts. Also I think the LEDs died but I think if i reboot my PC they should work so don't quote me on that part.

Other Thoughts: I thought my head was big until I put these on they are a bit on the big side.

2 out of 5 eggsLook Elsewhere for Gaming Headset

Pros: Looks Good, sound output is decent too. Fits comfortably.

Cons: Mic shorting out already, so I can no longer use this to game with others or stream, they hear feedback loops at random times from this headset's mic. When I pay 100$ for a headset I expect the mic to be of better quality than a 12$ mic from Wal mart. That is not the case here.

Other Thoughts: I've bought nothing but Corsair PSU's for how much I love this brand. I even have 2 cases of theirs that have been great. This headset, however, is pretty subpar for Corsair quality. Save yourself the headache of a terrible mic and get a real headset.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far loving it

Pros: Great sound quality for a gaming headset (Made the jump from a high priced Turtle Beach headset to this one noticed a huge difference)

EQ controls, I listen to a lot of heavy metal so I like to turn up the treble and this gives me the option to

Super comfortable, fabric and memory foam ear cuffs are always a huge plus with me and they even have it on the headband so props corsair!

For being a 7.1 Simulate, its a dang good 7.1 simulate

Got RGB Colors on the ear cans, unnecessary but a cool feature.

Cons: I love it, but this relationship isn't perfect

Mic quality is meh, though that's to be expected in a gaming headset, its no Mod Mic but it gets the job done

Cord isn't braided was a bummer.

RGB Colors on the cans are unnecessary and add an unnecessary cost to the product IMO

I feel like it could break easily if I played with it the wrong way too many times (good thing I got the warranty on it)

Other Thoughts: Though I've only had one day with this, Its truly an amazing headset for the money. Great quality, love the software, love the 7.1. Got a few issues that I can deal with, but overall Corsair did a great job on this product!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent but has problems

Pros: Pretty good sound quality. I actually personally find the headset pretty comfortable.

Cons: Headset doesn't completely work with the one voice chat program of my friends' choice: the new (as of this writing) Discord. I was able to get the microphone to work no problem and my voice sounded pretty clear. However, I could not get the sound to come out of the headphones. According to internet searches, it seems it's a compatibility issue this headset has with Discord and Raidcall. It works on other programs I've tested. Please update your drivers soon Corsair! I really like the quality of this headset, but this incompatibility issue is really big enough to be an egg off my review.

Other Thoughts: I'm kind of disappointed that this can't be my default headset when I'm using Discord, but I got this headset with a deal, so I am probably going to keep it.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid headset for those who want style, durability and 7.1 gaming

Pros: The sound quality is an improvement over other gaming headsets I've owned and certainly good for a 7.1 headset. Thick rich bass is definitely there if you want it. I haven't played FPS with them yet but the 3D demo stuff sounded like one would expect from a 7.1 headset. Sound quality reviews are always very subjective but the drivers are pretty standard for this type of headset and i think it's safe to say they won't disappoint in this department.

One big pro for me is that they seem to be constructed rather well and are not nearly as flimsy as the broken Soundblasters they are replacing. I've flexed and twisted and while the shape of them looks fragile in a photo all of the skinny bits are solid metal and everything feels very sturdy.

The ear cups and headband bottom are padded with foam and covered in a mesh that looks like it will hold up well, although it is a bit scratchy behind the ears when you shift the headset around. The trade off is fine by me since the soft and supple stuff on my non-gaming Bose set didn't last too long.

The mic boom is solid, stays in place and friends say the sound quality is good, I had no problem getting good levels in skype/teamspeak, etc.

The side mute button is nice for situations where you are not on push-to-talk but need to tell the cat to bugger off anyway and it has an easy to use setting toggle that more particular users may wish to implore (actually beeps to tell you where you are in the preset cycle which is nice).

They look like they were designed by a race of alien pirates and they have LEDs :P

Cons: They are not really the most comfortable over-ear headphones I've used and I've definitely had more comfortable studio headphones in the same price range but they can be shifted around easily and there is a lot of room for adjustment. Their strange shape lets you change the pressure points significantly and I think comfort really comes down to learning the best 'settings' (ie: do I contract the band and wear them more vertically or expand it and wear the band closer the forehead.) and shifting the angle of the band every hour or so. I've only had them for a month or so but I'm still trying to work out how exactly I prefer to wear them over long periods of time.

The other thing I have to mention is that the software and Windows 10 don't seem to want to play well together. I don't know if this is on Corsair or MS though. Without the software running the headphones connect and disconnect okay but with the software if the headphones are unplugged and re-plugged in I get hung processes eating CPU time and such and I have to restart my computer to get the headset to function sometimes. However, some programs in Win10 seem to take umbrage to USB headsets in general (I have to restart iTunes if I plug/unplug them)

The little red light to tell you that you are muted is a good idea but I personally can't actually see it unless I twist the mic, so it's totally useless. There is a sound that makes it easy to tell if you are muted or not by toggling the button though.

Also it's minor but I wish it had a braided cable in keeping with the general aesthetic of the product and really doubling down on durability. I might just braid it myself with a sleeve.

Other Thoughts: These are good headphones if you prioritize build quality and aesthetic, they are on par if not a slight cut above on the sound front. Just know that finding a good fit will take some work and that the software may give you some issues on win10 until Corsair/MS straighten that out.

3 out of 5 eggsIt Has Its Problems...

Pros: -Comfortable
-A lot of head adjustment room
-Fun to mess around with in CUE, if you understand it enough
-Very durable material

Cons: Ever since I got it, my voice has frequently been warped. It reaches a high pitch and sounds very robotic. It used to be fixed upon restarting my PC, but it has gotten progressively worse since then. I can't for the life of me figure out why it changes my voice, and it is extremely inconvenient. Unplugging it actually makes it worse, as it just completely does not connect at all.

The USB is a lot shorter than I had anticipated too, so if you plan on getting this, don't expect to be able to move very far without a USB extension.

The mic is also pretty weak in terms of pick up. This is both good and bad; no background noise gets through, but I have to speak loud enough for people to hear me. I'm told on the Corsair forums the mic is bendable to some degree, although it does not feel natural because of how it is built.
