5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Just perfect! I bought to replace the old Roccat XTD.

Cons: The complexity of the acquisition in the Russian Federation, but I still bought :-)

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend to use this mouse on the mat ROCCAT Hiro 3D Supremacy! there will be problems in sniper mode, the sensor will not respond to the slow action. although my old mouse Roccat HTD had the same problem with this rug. Replacing mousepad solves all problems.

5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL RIPJAWS MX780

Pros: built quality
style
performance
design
price.
adjustable grift and weight

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have been looking for a better mice. I own Logitech razer and even went for other cheap brand such as rosewill but man I have to tell you first time I touched this mouse I felt in love. not only the size is perfect for me I don't have big hands.
I tried the razer oboros. the quality of that mouse is solid and this mouse can compare on that. I also tried the razer naga. yes naga got a lot of programmable button but man 2 years of service I hardly use those

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

Pros: A solidly constructed mouse with a ton of features at a decent price comparing to other brands. What more can you ask for? feels comfortable for my hands which are average size. Works on most surfaces flawlessly. Pretty colors. I have mine with a tri color scheme and people who see it comment on how good it looks. The mouse wheel is very precise with a good tactical feel.

Cons: The software is buggy. At times it doesn't take the settings. The save settings doesn't come up all the time. So when you get it and start to set it up be aware if the save setting comes up you'll be fine once you save but if it doesn't, you might have to go back in and do it again. Kind of a hard learning curve. I cam complain all day about the software but I bought a mouse and not software so it still gets 5 eggs because the mouse is top notch.

Other Thoughts: I must have owned dozens of mice in the last 10 years from other companies and every one had something I didn't like. This mouse is close to perfect for me and so far the most likeable mouse I've owned. I own and have purchased many Gskill ram and only once did I have a problem. Gskill took care of me efficiently and quickly. So did Newegg the one time I had an issue. Newegg and Gskill are top notch companies and this mouse is a great buy.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: Looks pretty.

Cons: The software and settings is a mission to understand, they need to improve on it. The right side of the mouse plastic button has worn out and broke after only three months of use, so disappointed. Now I'm out 50.00. Had a generic Microsoft mouse that lasted 2yrs of use in gaming... probably buy something similar that doesn't cost so much and isn't very sensitive like the G.Skill MX780. Save your money!!!!

Other Thoughts: Just because it looks pretty doesn't mean it's good... I'm actually crying.

Hi Nelson

Glad to hear you like the unique design of RIPJAWS MX780 Laser Gaming Mouse. There are many special features that can be physically tailored using the included pieces in the package, or customized to your preference using the G.Skill Unified Driver System (GUDS). With regards to the right side mouse button, please send us pictures so we can determine whether it can be covered under the manufacturer lifetime warranty. This mouse should last many years with no physical abuse, so it is strange yours broke so quickly. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsDecent gaming mouse, not exceptional, small hands pretty much required

Pros: This is an attractive gaming mouse. The RGB lighting can make it look absolutely stunning.

It works dependably and well. The software, while not super-intuitive, is also far from the worst I've seen. Setting up the mouse is not a major hassle.

I love the interchangeable side panels held by magnets. I like this far better than small screws which are all too easily lost or misplaced. Also, the adjustable height on the heel plate is very well done.

Cons: You really need very small hands to use any kind of grip except a claw grip on this mouse. I don't have particularly large hands, but even a modified palm grip just doesn't work--the mouse is just physically way too small.

The side buttons are a weak point in the design. The placement is ok but they depress far too easily, making it easy to click them when you didn't mean to. Also, they feel "flimsy" compared to the rest of the mouse.

I would much prefer a true dedicated "sniper" button in the usual position. I have come to depend on that feature when playing games and I miss it when it isn't there. True, you can assign the sniper function to one of the side buttons, but it doesn't doesn't have quite the same feel.

Other Thoughts: It's a good mouse. It's attractive. If you have small hands, you will probably love it. It's good value for the price.

If you have large hands and small mice frustrate you, you may want to keep looking.

Hi James

Glad to hear you like the unique gaming design of this laser mouse. The smooth colorful lighting creates a cool feel and appearance for any user. Each color can also be used to signify the current DPI setting, so in game changes can happen without mistake. Using the G.Skill Unified Driver System (GUDS), many features are available to customize the mouse based on your personal preference. Once settings are saved to the device, the mouse can be unplugged and the settings will still remain even if used on another system without GUDS installed. This is especially ideal for professional gamers that may travel or use other systems; peripherals should always remain the same as the player should feel fully comfortable in controlling game play.

With regards to sizing and buttons, we appreciate the feedback and will take that into consideration for future designs. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse with terrible lighting software.

Pros: I love how this mouse feels. The extra weights were a big plus, as was the adjustable back end. Buttons have a good sensitivity and are fun to click. Side buttons on both sides of the mouse took me some getting used to, but I love having them for there for games. The adjustable wings are magnetic but they feel very solid. Looks great.

Cons: The lighting software is just plain wrong. If the color you select is even remotely light it ends up showing grey on the mouse. The same color is also inconsistently displayed across multiple areas. Maybe the LEDs aren't good, or maybe the clear covers over them mute the light, I don't know. I was able to get a color set I liked by choosing darker tones, but reds are violet, violets are deep purple, all the greens are teals and only the darkest blue isn't white. I also couldn't figure out how to get the breathing effect to apply to just one area once I'd set it for the whole mouse.

Other Thoughts: Whoever designed the hardware for this mouse did an amazing job, totally worth the asking price and more. Whoever designed their lighting software botched something, somewhere, tremendously. I like it enough not to RMA, but buyer beware!

5 out of 5 eggsgREAT mOUSE and keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: This mouse is smooth as silk and it looks nice too, the keys on the keyboard are the best I have encountered

Cons: One small one

Other Thoughts: The software works fine--but, they could add more functions to the buttons --being able to close a web page with a click is really convenient. Since the keyboard and mouse are new products, hopefully they are working on an improvement here. They keys on the keyboard are the best thing going.........

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mouse!

Pros: -RGB looks great
-Adjustable Palm Rest
-Included all tools
-Button Location
-Included Weights
-Great Response

Cons: -Drivers that you download to control the RGB are clunky. (Not a big deal since it doesn't take more than an extra second)

Other Thoughts: The look and feel of this mouse are incredible. It is extremely responsive to my clicks, glides smoothly, and the DPI stock settings are easy to switch through. The lighting in each zone is customizable. I love the increased weight of this mouse because I tend to lift my mouse when I try turning my in-game cameras too quickly and this feature helps minimize that effect.

2 out of 5 eggsNice mouse, terrible software

Pros: I received this as a Christmas present, purchased from newegg. The mouse has a nice design, with plenty of adjustments. I did have to change my grip to a claw style, where my preference is for the resting grip. I like the ambidextrous setup as I have always used the left and right side buttons for strafe left/right, and the second button on each side is programmed differently depending on what game I am playing.

Cons: The software is terrible with all sorts of problems, which I cannot consistently replicate, so I get different problems at different times. I have been using it for about 1 month now on a new build, and only a few days ago did it work correctly one time (including the LEDs being synchronized) after booting up. I have just sent an email to their support, these problems are excerpted from that email:

Here are the issues I am having:

1. Profile does not switch when launching the linked program.
a. alt-tabbing to activate gskill configuration software to manually set the profile usually results in problem 2 occurring, but sometimes works.
2. Correct profile activates after launching the program, but the settings are not applied (i.e. the mouse doesn't function correctly, so I alt tab, open the gskill software, and see the correct profile showing, but in game the settings are not being applied)
a. alt-tab to open configuration and then closing it again will result in a prompt to save changes (even though no changes were
made), sometimes this will result in the profile partially working (see problem 4), but sometimes will not.
b. after performing step a, unplugging and replugging the mouse may result in the profile being applied to the game. but sometimes results in problem 3
3. Unplugging and replugging the mouse sometimes results in it becoming completely unresponsive (further replugging does not help), and I have to use the keyboard to reboot the PC.
4. Often, the left and right mouse buttons do not register being held down and only register as a single 1 time click. This is especially noticeable in MMO games where holding down left and right mouse simultaneously is used to move forward. when this problem occurs i have to keep clicking as holding down the buttons only moves me forward 1 step.
a. sometimes a combination of reopening the gskill configuration window, re-saving the profile, and/or replugging the mouse will cause this problem (but replugging sometimes results in problem 3 occurring)
5. Always when a problem occurs with a profile either not activating or not being applied, when I open the gskill configuration window, I will see a new default profile active called fwData, which I usually can't delete without closing and reopening with another profile active.
6. Breathing effect is not synchronized between different LED areas, even though all are running the same lighting effect profile (default breathing). They will start in sync but get out of sync after a few cycles. I have only had this work correctly once, which was also the only time since i installed the MX780 that the profiles also worked correctly.

The configuration software for this mouse is very problematic, and its just about pointless to have profiles if I have to spend 20 minutes every time I play a game to reopen, reconfigure, resave the profile and replug the mouse until it will work.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Eric

Glad to hear you like the design of the RIPJAWS Gaming mouse and the many features that can be customized. With the G.Skill Unified Driver System (GUDS), the mouse can be programmed to your preference. All settings are semi-permanently saved to the on-board memory within the mouse, so any adjustments will follow the mouse to any computer, even if the GUDS is not installed. We are sorry to hear you are having such problems, they are certainly not normal for the mouse. Please contact the G.Skill support team and we can help determine whether it is a hardware or software problem. If there is a problem with the mouse itself, send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. In any case, once you reach us, we will make sure you are fully satisfied with your G.Skill purchase.

Thank you
