4 out of 5 eggsA Good Option for those who like hard metal gaming surfaces

Pros: + Excellent tracking with the various mice that I've got (includes a G700, RAT 7, MMO 7 and Sensei)

+ This is a good medium speed pad for those who like a bit more of a "control" feel. You won't find the mouse sliding all over the place like you would with a plastic or composite surface

+ Large size works great for those who like to game at lower sensitivities, or those with lots of screen real-estate to cover. It is around 2" large diagonally than my Razer Ironclad.

+It's actually a bit thinner than many competing hard mats which makes for a pretty comfortable/natural feel, here the beveled edges help as well.

+ The audio feedback from the pad is not as loud as some other hard surfaces

+ The anodized red surface is pretty neat looking and the beveled edge completes what is probably one of the nicest looking mousing surfaces in the market at the moment.

+ The supplied carry case is light and adequate for carrying the GLIDE 9 around. The overall package is pretty easy to carry around

Cons: - The foam base could have been a bit more grippy. If the GLIDE 9 it let down in any department, it is the foam base. Works great on super smooth surfaces like glass, but on a matte surface, it isn't as grippy as mats like the Iron Clad with their tacky rubber bases.

- Whilst hardly the noisiest pad in the market, the GLIDE 9's audio feedback may be a bit too much for some. It's not one for those who like to game in total silence.

- The size can be a bit too much for some. It's a pretty substantial piece of aluminum. those with smaller desks need not apply.

- The supplied evevelope carry case, although light, seems a bit more "budget" than the hard cases that some mats come with - particularly when you compare it with mats like the Razer Iron Clad. Having said that, you do not buy a pad for the case it comes it, right?

- Most importantly, it's quite expensive as far as mouse mats go. Those who appreciate aluminum mouse mats will not mind the price too much, but first time buyers of alu mats will need to give this a try to see if this is worth making the jump.

Other Thoughts: A beautifully made and finished gaming surface that offers excellent tracking for a wide variety of mice. I've tested this with everything from the G700 to Mad Catz own MMO7 with no issues whatsoever. Tracking is firm and precise with no cursor drift and it lives up to Mad Catz claim in this regard. The surface seems pretty durable so far (we'll see how well this red color holds out in the long run)! It's a fine example of how a metal mousing surface should feel like - cool to the touch and with nice steady tracking accompanied by a whisper-like audio feedback.

It's only let down by the slightly less grippy base material and the steep price tag and somewhat iffy carry case (it's handmade they say!). Other than that, this is a great product from Mad Catz and well worth a look - particularly if you like the aesthetics!

Pros: Just a short update of my previous review.

Cons: Bought a new pad. XTRAC PADS Ripper. G700 works flawlessly on it.

Gonna trash the GLIDE 9.

Other Thoughts: Even the bag that came with GLIDE 9 works better with my G700.

3 out of 5 eggsGLIDE 9

Pros: Preorder it from MadCatz's homepage. Waited few months.

Really great looking mouse pad.

XL size, should be big enough for most gamers.

Cons: Got to wash my hands before i use my computer, otherwise oil will show up on the surface of the mouse pad.

Logitech G700 doesn't work well on this mouse pad. Mine just keep losing signal when i use it wirelessly. G700 was working fine on my old plastic mouse pad.

Other Thoughts: Gonna try it with a wired mouse. Bought a G500, on the way.

Really hope it's the G700's problem, cause this pad looks really nice, don't wanna trash it.
