5 out of 5 eggsSolid Mouse Platform

Pros: I bought one of these back in the late '90s and I'm still using it. It's stood the test of time great and survived a lot of angry fist banging on the gel pad from gaming. Reads my gaming laser mice with no issues and (for me) is much more comfortable than many of the regular, flat "gaming" mouse pads.

Cons: About the only con is the size. Naturally with 10 years of use I have gotten very used to it and when using mice with DPI changes on the fly, it has never been a problem for me. The plastic base does have two cracks on the very front near the logo, which is probably related to my gaming frustration mentioned above, but it has not affected the performance or my use and is a minor issue after over 12 years of use. I suppose I should mention that the neoprene mouse pad itself did shrink a little lengthwise over the years but since the pad grips the plastic, it has never moved around on me. It does get a little dirty and can be a pain to clean but a light scrubbing seems to do the trick.

Other Thoughts: I can't help but give this mouse pad 5 eggs after it's long life. You really can't ask much more of a product at this price point. I am only now considering replacing this one due to it's white color being a little off from everything else on my computer desk. I was surprised to find Fellowes still makes this pad as well as a black one. It's not for everyone as some of my friends have commented that the wrist pad is too tall and the mouse pad is too small but after trying various other "optical" mouse pads and similar nonsense, I have never found anything that suited me better.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: It's a mousepad and wrist support in one unit.

Cons: The plastic base isn't flat; it's slightly bowed upwards. The same with the wrist pad, which make a small popping sound every time pressure is taken off the wrist pad. The wrist pad isn't very comfortable.

Other Thoughts: It's still better than my wrist always on wood.

5 out of 5 eggsLasts Forever

Pros: I have had this thing forever probably about 8 years and I've put it through hell the entire time. It originally came with a keyboard wrest too(not sure if this one does) but that broke which might seem like a con but considering it was so squishy I played with it constantly and used it as a weapon to fight my brother it's not exactly their fault plus it lasted about a year or 2. The mouse section has lasted far longer I've worn the originally blue surface black with use and the gel wrist support is still fine. It's just a mouse pad but I feel very attached to it. It's the oldest part of my computer setup.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: People with low sensitivity settings may want to consider an extra large mouse pad because it is just your standard size pad.

5 out of 5 eggsLasts 10 Years

Pros: Have had the same one since 2000, yes that's right the Year right after 1999. Used it for college, and have taken it into work to use daily. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to save their wrists from strain. I also have the long keyboard wrest from way back when. My mouse sensitivity is up high, so i don't have to constantly lift my mouse.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I use Maya and Photoshop, +Gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsComfy

Pros: I got this mainly because the base is solid, and I wanted to be able to use a mouse on non-standard surfaces (chairs, my lap etc). I also liked the wrist rest.

Cons: The actual surface to move the mouse on isn't much bigger than a mouse itself, so you have to keep lifting the mouse up to reposition it in order to keep moving it left or right. I also find myself keeping the mouse towards the front of the mousepad so I can scroll down. This means having part of the mouse hang over the edge. Fellowes makes a bigger mouse/wrist pad, but it didn't have the solid base I was looking for. Maybe they can make a mousepad that incorporates the best qualities from both.
