Cons: Made clicking and grinding sounds when hitting the eject button, but wouldn't open. For the cost, I didn't even bother to return it. I bought a Samsung slimline and it works perfect.

Never had one "Lite-On" Optical Drive fail over the past 12 years of buying this brand.

Cons: None unless you can count 1 return out of about between 30 to 40 optical drives purchased.

Other Thoughts: Lite-On has been producing great optical drives for years. I was glad to start seeing them on newegg because I was getting tired of buying auction site items because of the limited return policies & over priced so called new drives that came in sandwich bags & not either an OEM box or a manufacturers package. It's hard to trust sellers that sell out of their basement or kitchen.
I also like the fact that Lite-On took over manufacturing the 2 largest computer processors that are used world wide. That seems hard to believe that a smaller company that was just manufacturing optical drives ended up manufacturing the CPU's that we tend to argue over which one is better when they both come out of the same building.
Back to Lite-On optical drives. Like I mentioned above, I think I've only had 1 failure out of the some 30 to 40 drives I've purchased under the Lite-On name. I forgot how many other drives they used to make but that amount an go up & down because once a company produces 100's of thousands of drives, some of those companies have made enough money to start their own plants, while some just continue to have Lite-On do it since they don't have to have plants built, only warehouse space to handle/ship their products.
What I've noticed was once I started taking time to read up on firmware updates, I was able to get more mileage out of the drives & also pass the information to customers who would email me with question about problems they were having.
Lite-On makes a really great product so sale prices or not, they've always been a good investment.

Pros: Great price and burning capabilities plus fast delivery but the dual layer burning was a major factor for me purchasing this all in all a great buy .

Cons: Sadly this dvd burner didn't fit the laptop i purchased it for it was too big needed a really slim drive thankfully i had another laptop that was compatible but i am still a little disappointed that i couldn't get feedback on this item i asked multiple times seeking information about if this would fit into my laptop drive bay but no replies and thus gets a 3 star rating instead of 4 stars.
