The Lite-On 20X Super Allwrite IDE drive writes 4.7GB of data in about 5 and a half minutes to DVD+R, and supports all DVD formats. Intelligent features like a 2 MB cache and Smart-Burn buffer under-run protection to ensure that you get accurate, working copies every time, instead of wasting disc blanks on failed write attempts. In dual-layer format, you'll be able to store 8.5 GB of data, photos, music, or games on one dual-layer disc.
Playback is just as reliable with Smart-X technology for smooth, stable Audio CD, VCD, and DVD playback; and high-performance DAE, VCD, and DVD data extraction.

Good buy
- Pros: For the price, it's awesome. Reads pretty fast.
- Cons: Kind of noisy, but only when a disc is being read. Not distracting, but louder than some drives.

Very nice
- Pros: Easy to install. Burned DVDR and CDR at top speed without any problem. Very quiet. Green LED indicator.
- Cons: The screw holes on the side panels were not well drilled.
- Other Thoughts: Many reviewers complained that this drive was loud and noisy. The drive I received early this week (manufactured in January 2008) was as very quiet as Seagate hard drives. The drive came with firmware version 9P58. The current version is 9P59 released on 2/15/08 (http://us.liteonit.com/us/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=153).

works great, good price
- Pros: fast, inexpensive drive. Simple to install, automatically recognized by Windows XP, Vista, Linux 2.6 kernel

- Pros: Burns Fast and reliable. i have burned 100+ movies and cd's with no issues at all. Would buy the same one again if i have any future issues with it.
