This Lite-On 20X DH-20A4H-08 drive writes 4.7GB of data in about five and a half minutes to DVD+R, and supports all DVD formats. Nero CD is a Coaster
- Pros: This is a great drive for the price (when on sale & it + shipping is less than an OEM drive).
Comes with white bezel (which swaps out easy).
This one is pretty quiet.
- Cons: The included Nero DVD was messed up bad enough to lock-up windows explorer, and never showed that it had any contents at all.
The Nero CD is about the only difference between the OEM and the Retail, so it's pretty bad that it doesn't work (the reason I gave 4 eggs).
In my case, I have plenty of working Nero CDs from previous purchases, (license code is the same on all of the recent ones), so no big deal.
nero 7 is indeed very bloated, and less useful than 6.6
- Other Thoughts: I have bought at 10 or so LiteOn DVD burners over the last 3 years or so (for family & friend builds), they all still work well. There were a couple that were Very loud (still worked fine), a year or two ago, but this one seems really quiet.
Read the review titled: 'Good drive hampered by bad software', it sums up nero 7 essentials pretty well.
Great Drive
- Pros: Works Great, Lightscribe works just like it should. Drive is silent while labeling Lightscribe Disks.
- Cons: Can be a bit noisy during disk burns. Ships with bad software (Nero 7 Essentials). I recommend using open source or free burners that can be found online. Nero 7 is bloated and crippled, with little functionality. I use Lightscribe Template Labeler instead of Nero 7. Lightscribe disks are more expensive than normal CD-R disks.
- Other Thoughts: Replaced a LITE-ON Drive that gave out after 7 years. Great drives, highly recommended.

Warning - Don't Purchase
- Pros: Excellent Drive
- Cons: Any company that would sell their product with bundled software like what was provided should go out of business.
- Other Thoughts: Should have read the reviews. Will not be purchasing anything from Nero after this.
- Pros: It works.
- Cons: Does not come with IDE cable.
- Other Thoughts: I bought the retail version thinking it would include everything needed to hook it up, but unfortunately it does not.
Of course, the package contents under specifications does not include the cable, though it should be standard issue in any case.
Oh well, live and learn.
Good DVD Burner/player
- Pros: Good reveiews , easy to install, very fast to install software. Ability to burn label directly to DVD or CD with proper media. Price, dependability, (have a previous purchase with a custom built computer).
