Cons: Towards the end, I tried burning dual layer DVDs since I thought it's something it could do. I had no success and couldn't make my computer believe it had that capability. However, shortly thereafter it stopped working entirely. The light would blink but it would not read, write, or eject - it was dead. Other Thoughts: Not terrible value for the price. It's very quiet when reading, and quieter than most while writing. Looks sleek and fit into an case that matches the color. Drivers auto instal. Some have said it's "loud" when it first spins up; but it's definitely no-louder than any other drives of these types. Cons: I wish the casing of the drive was black. But no drive casings are black; at least none that I've seen. I got this as a combo deal with a processor. The processor came in it's EOM box with the shipment, but the drive does not. Also, the drive came without a manual/documentation (not that I needed any) and without a S-ATA Power -> 4 pin MOLEX connector and without a S-ATA data transfer cable. Coming without the cables wasn't a big deal for me, and coming without a box and documentation was fine also, but if you buy this in a combo deal be aware that may happen. In all fairness, it does not say this is OEM, so one can expect it to NOT have documentation or cables. Other Thoughts:* As I state, got this with a combo deal. The combo discount had a $15 total discount, so I really only had to pay $5 for this excellent drive. But even at $20, it's worth it. Get it if you're looking for a simple, quiet, well-performing and easy-to-install CD/DVD drive solution! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you?
