This Lite-On 24 X iHAS424-98 DVD writer writes 4.7GB of data in about five and a half minutes to DVD+R/-R, and supports all DVD formats. Intelligent features such as a 2MB buffer, Smart-Burn buffer under-run protection and ABS system reducing vibration and noise work together to ensure that you get accurate, working copies every time, instead of wasting disc blanks on failed write attempts.

It would burn most of a label, but skip areas, leaving smeary looking gaps. The drive quit after about 2 years of light use. It would still open and spin, but not recognize disks anymore. I made the mistake of not testing the Lightscribe feature. For the first time I wanted to burn some Lightscribe labels and it won't recognize lightscribe disks. JetpackOps 1/8/2013 2:41:35 PM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 4/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5the right iHAS Pros: works great for burning identical, one-to-one copies of disc images with proper firmware support Cons: Comes with a newer version stock firmware, but can be easily "updated" to an older version of stock firmware. Other Thoughts: I actually had to "update" the firmware to an older edition of the stock, which was simple. Then and only then would a certain "software tool" be able to update the firmware to the "augmented" firmware. Once I downgraded the stock that came on it to the old version of stock, it worked fine.
