Nice build quality and very sturdy for such a small drive. They didn't use a plastic see through covering on the botton to conceal the moving parts like on some other slim drives. Cons: none. LiteON 2/26/2012 12:38:58 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 4/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Lite On user Pros: Installed in HP DV4 and NV52 and works and burn DVD-ROM. Would recommend for those looking for a inexpensive replacement DVD drive. Quiet and easy to install if your willing to take time to replace the factory face plate with your laptop factory face plate for proper fit. Cons: To install in different you will have to remove the factory face plate and place your laptop face plate to fit but once you do that it works like a charm. To previous buyer it would seem to be more hardware incompatibility and not fault of drive itself. Rather they should've bought a desktop unit rather then buying a laptop unit. Other Thoughts: To be able to burn DVD-ROM you will need to download the lite-on utility that will set the book-type for DVD+R and DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM. But once you save the book-type setting it will be set and work. No problem so far in burning but I see after a year of using the two burners that I bought so far and maybe a third for my Toshiba L305 for a upgrade. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful. Loaded Windows 7 DVD fine. When I tried to install the drivers from the ASUS DVD, the system ejected the DVD. Tried several times, rebooted PC no cure. Placed DVD on two other computers no problem. Had to copy drivers to a USB Drive to install on new motherboard. At this point not sure if issue is defective DVD drive or compatibility issue.
