Other Thoughts: Be sure to notice that this is the bare drive, so it does not come with SATA cables for power and data. This would be a good replacement drive, or if you're building a computer, but be sure that your power supply or motherboard comes with the necessary SATA cables like mine did.

Pros: Does was it's designed to do.

Cons: May get a little loud, but I don't use it enough to take an egg off for that reason.

Other Thoughts: Just like Bryant said. If you don't know what OEM means, don't buy it. It only comes with the actually CD-ROM.

Other Thoughts: In reading these reviews, I felt I needed to write one myself to CLEARLY explain what this drive is and is not.

This is a OEM, CD & DVD reader. OEM means it comes as is, probably in an anti-static bag and bubblewrap. It has no dics, no drivers, no cables...that's OEM. If you're building a new computer, your motherboard should come with SATA cables, so don't worry about that.

This is a CD & DVD reader, NOT a burner. No where in the description or details does it say burner or imply it burns disks. Don't hate on the drive because you didn't read the description BEFORE you bought it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this drive, it's EXACTLY what it says it is, and works great for a system that just needs a drive to load software or so you can play games or watch DVDs without putting wear on your burning drive.

Pros: I rated 5 star because It is a great disc reader. however, it doesn't BURN discs.

Cons: If you want a drive that can burn discs, this is not for you.

Cons: BAD if you are using this to build a pc (as I am) because it come with no cables. It doesn't say that anywhere that I can see. DO NOT BUY IF YOU DON"T ALREADY HAVE THE CABLES!!!

Pros: Fast drive, easy install, windows detected it right away, and it was cheap and shipped in 3 days.

Cons: Does not awrite anything! Also does not allow for boot from disc, might be my BIOS but when I tried it kept on giving me an error code or something.

Other Thoughts: Good drive, might purchase again later but right now I need one that can write DVD's and ISO images!
