5 out of 5 eggsSony BD RW Drive

Pros: Durable, Portable and this is future proof. It is the only other drive other than one made by Panasonic that will support the newest BD Media. the software which is made by Cyberlink is phenomenal and is better than Nero, Roxio
Windows Media Player as well as other DVD Playback Software and Burner software. this software is for Professionals and not novices

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Remember that this drive requires two Open USB ports.
One for Power and one for data transfer

1 out of 5 eggsA Writer that could not Write

Pros: It's small, light and powered by USB.

Cons: DOES NOT WRITE. Tried all types of media: CD, DVD and even BD. I would get a generic error saying that the disc is bad. First I thought it was the software, tried a different program and still the same issue. Next I thought it was the discs, I have another Blueray burner and it was able to write to the same discs.

I may have a defective device, but this is a first especially with Sony, who set the blue ray standards.

Other Thoughts: My other blueray burner is the buffalo mediastation and it works like a charm.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent item...

Pros: resonable price, comes with powerdvd and plays back my bluray movies... I use this with my dell 11z netbook

Cons: havent had any issues yet... i know folks will probably wanna point out the cable and dual usb plugs, but my dell has 2 side by sisde usb ports on the right side so i use those w/o issues

Other Thoughts: i had an overpriced portable blu-ray player that was booboo that got hot and would start skipping and shhh plus it had possibly the worst sound quality i ever heard from a portable unit...wouldn't play my dvds and whatnot, so for $125 i got a "computer" bdrom ..computer drives never really have issues reading commercial discs and my dell got decent sound quality, etc
