Other Thoughts: so i bought a cheaper one, a nite-on and that works better with hardly any noise lol

Pros: No problems, so far, but I haven't tried LightScribe.

Cons: Spins slightly louder than the quietest DVD drives I've tried, but not really bad. Seek noise is average.

Other Thoughts: The version I received was made in July, 2009. It's a rebadged LiteOn model iHAS224 and accepted LiteOn's newest firmware, version ZL0P, date Nov. 2009. This is 2 revisions newer, but do not flash LiteOn firmware because doing so will definitely void the warranty and possibly turn the product into a brick.

Pros: SATA, looks good in case, does what it is supposed to

Pros: I always love Memorex drives and I was lucky to find it here. It works perfectly with no problems,
