2 out of 5 eggsOnly lasted 3 months

Pros: Good price for a blue ray burner.. Fast speeds.

Cons: No software.. Died after 3 months. No longer stocked, I have no idea how to get it repaired!

Other Thoughts: Just didn't last. I have had dvd burners last for years.. This was the worst drive i have owned.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality product

Pros: High quality product, more scilent than previous generations. Burns dvd and bluray with perfection without running hot.

Can burn more than 3 blurays in a row without breaking the laser !

Cons: No cons!

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It is fairly quiet, does what it is meant to. Haven't had a chance to try and burn any Blu-Ray disks yet.

Cons: The LED on the front to indicate activity is a little distracting if it isn't covered.

Other Thoughts: If you want to watch Blu-Ray movies and don't have any software that can handle Blu-Ray yet, you may want to consider buying a drive that comes with software.

As of right now, there are not many decent free programs that are able to play Blu-Ray movies. I was able to get VLC to work for me for now, but I do wish I had a better program for it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood little drive

Pros: Price was key! 15X Blue ray burner, super fast. Queues up videos really quickly. Installation is a no-brainer.. Just plug in the sata connectors and good to go.

I installed on a Windows 8.1 .. No issues.

Cons: No Software. Sure would be nice to even have a demo disk or something. I downloaded Ashampoo burning software for tests..

Other con is the directions. The drive is not labeled BD-R for burner.. so it looks like a normal player, and the directions were not much help in clarifying. I thought I might have got the wrong model...

Other Thoughts: Overall, if you can find software cheap, then this is a great drive.. If you are going to have to pay 80.00 for Cyberlink or something like it, you may be better off buying a more expensive model that has software in it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty solid drive for the money. Works great for watching movies on Win 8. It also worked to install and run Ubuntu when I had attempted it.

Cons: Comes with no cables, no software. Just the drive. Could also be considered a benefit I suppose.

5 out of 5 eggsBluray, DVD, CD oh my

Pros: With this Bluray Optic Drive, purchase and download Cyberlink PowerDVD-13 software, the full package. You will be able to utilize your new Pioneer Optic Drive in ways you've never thought possible. First off you must use software codecs to view video discs so splurge and get the best from Cyberlink. Second, their software can unlock features to make your experience a fun one.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsCheck your reasons

Pros: Works well with DL disks for up to 50GB storage.

Cons: Bare drive--no software included. If you want to watch Blu-Ray movies. This is only part of what you need.Right now, Blu-Ray movies are a moving target and the available software is not keeping up with DRM. Software that plays movies from a year ago will not necessarily play today's movies.Even software that plays the movies OK doesn't always know how to handle the video menu system.

Other Thoughts: Designed for data storage, not for movie watching.
