I have RIdata bd-r 4x - this drive burned my 22G movie in 10 minutes at speeds from 5.4 to 9.9x, using imgburn. This drive is amazing.

Ripping and burning at top speeds it is still quieter than most drives.

Also to the previous poster - This drive is NOT rip locked. I have been ripping movies for 3 days straight from bluray, single and dual layer at speeds between 4 and 9 times!!!

Cons: The LED is green and not blue not really a big deal

Other Thoughts: Had 2 previous LG drives and their firmware tool did not work, would not update, and LG could not resolve. KUDOS to Pioneer for a firmware update tool that works!!!!

Pros: DVD RW worked well and fast

Cons: As stated above, unit would not play/read music CD's. Plan to return and purchase a different brand.

Pros: Looks and fells like a solid product but will not work.
Very easy installation.

Cons: Will not play all movies with PDVD 15 Ultra. Pop ups keep saying this movie doesn't supports True Theater and freezes. If you turn off True Theater and try to play movie you get the same results

Other Thoughts: Not sure what to make of this. Hopefully a product rep has some insight. I looked for firmware updates but did not find any for the 209.

Pros: This burner is reliable and pretty fast for its price.
It has been error free when burning, unlike many other units.

Cons: On occasion it will jam on a cd, but this is uncommon.

Other Thoughts: I recommend it for it's price and utility

Burns and plays all media
Will burn CD-Rs at 4x which is great for ( Flac or wav files for audio use)
Well built
Seems to last compared to a few other BD-RE optical drives I have bought
Good customer service
Burns MKV files perfectly to Verbatim BD-REs at 2x
I would give this a solid 4 1/2 eggs and wish the review rating would change to allow 1/2 star or egg reviews.

Other Thoughts: Seems like Pioneer drives last a good long time compared to other brands I have tried. I had a LG and Lite On blue ray burner and they both croaked just after the 1 year warranty was up!

Pioneer will provide great customer service with the 1 year warranty
My first Pioneer died about 15 days before the 1 year warranty was up and they quickly replaced the drive with a brand new unit.

I have been in I.T. since 1993 and have seen it all with computer hardware.

Pioneer seems to have a above average product line compared to the other available Blue Ray burners!

Pros: Inexpensive, fast.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried to burn a BluRay yet so I'm not sure how well that performs, but I have tried everything else and works great.

Pros: Worked Great for two years

Cons: Unfortunately seems to have lost ability to read

Pros: Works great. I like the plain front face.

Cons: None yet, however, I don't believe I've ever burned any DVDs/CD's with them FWIW.

Pros: -Pioneer so it's obviously well made.
-Burns everything quickly.
-Does its overall job really well.

Cons: Zero.

Other Thoughts: I have had this Pioneer Burner for over a year and a half now and it still works as if it's brand new. I have had absolutely zero problems with it, would recommend it.
