Sony/NEC's 52X CD-RW drive can create a full CD-R disc in less than 3 minutes or a full CD-RW disc in about 4 minutes. The CRX230EE features Power-Burn buffer under-run protection technology, to make sure you get a working copy the first time. The drive is designed to be more compact, to fit easily into small footprint desktop computer cases.

The unit connects via ATAPI/EIDE and supports Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, and XP. The CRX230EE comes with a full-featured software suite, and makes it easy to burn and share digital files.

Nice burner for the money

Pros: I purchased this burner for a Dell PCX150 that I had bought from a friend and I would have to say everything worked out nice. I got the burner the 4th day after I had ordered it and pluged it right in and burned a disc. The speed is exceptional and it even reads DVD's.

Cons: THey need to make DVD burners cheaper.

Other Thoughts: This was my first time purchasing from newegg and this site will keep me out of the computer stores for now on.

Problems off the start.

Pros: Works fine with CD's and was a synche to install.

Cons: Can't burn CD's. Currently hounding Sony for not having any support for this item and not listing it as a product for reference. No patches or updates at all for this.

Other Thoughts: Should've known something so cheap was gonna cost me later. Too much trouble to mess with so better chances are with something else.

Pros: Works exactly as a CD-R/RW should.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It is not a DVD anything so of course they are not going to work on it. Anyone looking for a CD Burner that is reliable and that writes accurately this one works great.

It will not read DVDs nor will it burn them. If you need a DVD burner they are located in a different section.
