Pros: Speed matched that of my IDE 1040i DVD-RW drive which runs at Ultra DMA mode 4

Cons: Worked great 3 times on the 4th and 5th time that I tried to rip a DVD It spun up to Max power-rattled- then abruptly stopped and hung my computer

Other Thoughts: When it worked it was quiet and fast - when it didn't it sounded like a jet plane powering up before it shut itself down -wish it would have worked out - sent it back

Pros: Working fine after almost a month.
dvd-rom + $20 = What can you really ask for.

Cons: Kind of seems like its catching on itself when the tray opens and makes a clunking noise.

Other Thoughts: Being that 90% of my games are on Steam and generally its just my bf2 disc sitting in the dvd-rom I'm not going to cry about the tray... again $20 and it reads dvd's.
Job done.

Pros: SATA. I received exactly what I wanted. Good, solid DVD/CD drive. My ASUS P5NE-SLI motherboard recognized it right away. I've owned this drive for about 3 months now and I haven't run into any problems whatsoever. The drive puts out hardly any noise while spinning.

Cons: No SATA connectors but that was expected. The front of the drive is rather plain and kind of dull but that's really not a con for me.

Other Thoughts: ASUS rocks and so does Newegg!!!!!!!
