Pros: Installation of this product was as easy as could be expected- just slap it in and plug in the two cords.
It has had no trouble with any disks it has been given in the last week, of which there have been a couple dozen.

Cons: Boy is this thing loud. Having never put together a computer before, when I booted it up, slapped a disk in, and heard the noise I was tempted to shut down the computer immediately to see what I did wrong. But I put my ear to the case and found out it's just the disk working away! It's not a quiet noise either- it's fairly loud.

Other Thoughts: With the noise being the only issue, I can't exactly say I'm all that disappointed. It was cheap, and it does everything I need it to. For me, five stars indicate it being perfect. The noise means it is not perfect. But it still is a solid machine from what I've been able to tell, and it gets the job done. So as long as you're alright with the whirring noise when it reads a disk, then you're going to be happy enough with this product.

Pros: as I said earlier, good quality, easy to install and use, well packaged and protected, it is not heavy and although not yet tested and the maximum, is working well and I was not given signs of having a problem.

Pros: Works just fine as a replacement in my Mac Pro. Reads and writes CDs and DVDs just like it says on the label! But the really amazing part is getting this for under $16 -- I just spent that much on a piece of plastic in Home Depot's plumbing section!

Other Thoughts: Newegg estimated that I would receive this (using free shipping) in 4-7 days. They actually shipped it it 12 hours and I received it less than 2 days after placing the order. Great product, great price, great service.

Pros: It's reliable and does what its supposed to, have not run into any issues

Pros: This drive was cheap, no problem to install, and does just fine. Then again, it's an optical drive ... how complex should it be? It comes with management software to save power and control activity, which is helpful.

Cons: None.
