Pros: as I said earlier, good quality, easy to install and use, well packaged and protected, it is not heavy and although not yet tested and the maximum, is working well and I was not given signs of having a problem.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: highly recommended, I've always had faith to asus brand and everything from there I have always been in order, zero problems

Pros: Works just fine as a replacement in my Mac Pro. Reads and writes CDs and DVDs just like it says on the label! But the really amazing part is getting this for under $16 -- I just spent that much on a piece of plastic in Home Depot's plumbing section!

Cons: What's not to like?

Other Thoughts: Newegg estimated that I would receive this (using free shipping) in 4-7 days. They actually shipped it it 12 hours and I received it less than 2 days after placing the order. Great product, great price, great service.

Pros: It works ...slowly...burns DVD's about 4x speed with different media tested.

Cons: Slow

Other Thoughts: Can't risk the RMA process of being without a burner, have to wait to try another brand.

Cons: Stopped working after less than three months. I/O error while writing disk leadin.

Pros: This drive was cheap, no problem to install, and does just fine. Then again, it's an optical drive ... how complex should it be? It comes with management software to save power and control activity, which is helpful.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: A no-brainer solution.
