Pros: It looks pretty

Cons: plug and play doesn't work, drivers are unavailable from the ASUS website.

Other Thoughts: nope, do not recommend

Pros: Works well with Win 10 playing blue ray disks. It comes with Cyberlink Power2Go 8.

Cons: But it really needs a blue ray player bundled.

Other Thoughts: VLC doesn't work with it.

Pros: USB to slimline SATA interface works alright for reading discs (did not do a burn test yet)

Cons: Removing drive from enclosure is a bit tricky -- two tiny screws under top of ASUS label at corners. Use guitar picks or similar to separate both sides and then unscrew another screw on USB board, unscrew four screws holding plastic enclosure to drive (2x on both sides) and 2 additional small screws on the thinner side of the drive which also holds against inner plastic enclosure.

As someone else mentioned, the faceplate included is bigger than your standard faceplace if using it in a SFF desktop, but can be removed/replaced accordingly with an older faceplate.

Other Thoughts: Good price for UJ-260 in bonus USB enclosure

Pros: Plug and play, auto detected which is nice

Cons: Read is only reading at 2x for me. Bought to back up blurays for plex and it's taking a while, but I haven't had time to really troubleshoot it yet. Tried a handful of USB2 and USB3 ports, still reading at 2x.

Other Thoughts: Works and does the job. Price was right after rebate.

Pros: love it so much, use it about 2-times a week and it is still recording DVD and BlueRays perfectly...

Cons: no negative remarks about this unit, it works perfectly..

Other Thoughts: i would recomend this recorder/player to anyone..

Pros: Easy to use and nice software and great price (bought it when it was on sale.

Cons: None

Pros: No external power required. Small and has nice stand to make it easy to setup on desk next to you.

Cons: Delicate. USB mini connector doesn't hold cable.

Other Thoughts: Mini USB connector from day one really didn't hold cable tightly. Spent first hour after receiving product trying to get it recognized by win8.1. Pushed the cable in on the back about another 1/16th of inch... presto started working.
Four months later win8.1 stopped detecting the drive. Moved to my win7 machine which recognized it but as soon as I didn't anything but list the directories the drive would disappear (reboot) and a couple minutes later reappear. Wont recognize any blank disks anymore.
RMA started today.

Pros: Drive works, burns the disks

Cons: USB 2.0 so if you're burning a 50Gb disk it takes over 1hr
I've got 3 dud disks so far because of odd burning errors
Windows update installed a driver that caused the drive not to show as a drive anymore. I uninstalled the driver and the drive showed back up

Pros: Came in a box I could use to ship it back in.

Cons: I'm very tech saavy. I tried everything and every trick mentioned to get this thing working. I mean at all. Brand new custom built pc that has no problem with any other USB devices doesn't even get the handshake that a USB device is attached. Contacted Asus support and they basically gave me the "Turn on and off does it work? No? Reformat your PC." I'll update if they ever try to sort this out properly with me. Between this and their garbage monitors I'll just stick to their motherboards and suggest to them they should too.

Pros: I found the device to power on but not be recognised the computer. the mini usb should be flush with the rear of the disk drive it can be connected and power on but the pc will not detect the device. PUSH IN HARDER ON THE MINI USB TILL IT IS FLUSH WITH THE REAR OF THE DISK DRIVE. then it should be recognised and the pc will detect it
