Other Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is building a gaming rig. My specs are here as follow

AMD FX 8320 125 watt CPU 8 Core
4 Gskill ram total 16 gigs of ram onboard, can handle 32 gigs
Enermax 24 8 power supply unit plenty of power
Now with the blu ray burner added to the list.

will buy again

Other Thoughts: No idea why some say this is not working within Windows 10. I have had this drive since Windows 10 came out and not a single problem. Works great! Don't be mislead by 1 star reviews claiming this drive does not work with Windows 10.

Other Thoughts: Saw so many negative reviews, I decided to call Asus to see which optical drives were certified to work with Windows-10 since none are listed as working with Windows-10, and they would never answer their support phone.

Pros: NONE, does not function.

Cons: Does not work on Windows 10.
No updates available, I built an entire Asus system all is good except this drive.

Cons: Purchased ... has never worked correctly ... I put up with it because I watch most of my movies on my laptop ...

This drive will not play Blu Ray anything ... with cds and dvds will have to sometimes open and close the drive several times for it to realize that there is a disc inside and load it. When i burn photos or documents to disk they have errors and wont read on other computers.

I went to the Assus website and they dont list a downloadable driver for it ... I went to their technical assistance tab and the information they wanted would have required me to disassemble my computer to get the serial numbers off of all of the parts not just that it was 4 or 5 pages of questions ... the phone number went to an automated system ... BAD BAD BAD

On top of that ... coming back to the reviews inside of Newegg this product has a 42% 1 egg rating ... thats the majority of the raters ... why isnt this product noted somewhere as the majority your customers that have purchased this drive have not liked it and have had issues ... thats kinda a big deal Newegg ... but next to your rating for the product it says 33 5 egg rating ... lol doesnt mention that everyone else that has bought the drive has had problems with it ... and seeing how the rating system works it was probably assus or newegg emplyees that wrote the positive reviews if there are that many bad reviews on it ...

Pros: None

Cons: Since installation the drive has only read cds and dvds ... and that sparingly ... its hit or miss sometimes I have to open and close the drive a couple of times for it to read the dvds ... and these arent burnt in the garage dvds ... just normal movie dvds ... same goes for the music cds ...

I went to the assus website and they dont list a downloadable driver for it ... I went to their help tab and the list of things I needed to fill out for just the submittal to them was going to require me to pull my computer apart to get all of the information they were asking for.

Horrible drive ... hasnt worked since day 1. I dont recommend ... where are the negative stars at ...

lol and on top of that ... looking at neweggs rating system ... this drive has a 3 star rating with 42% of the stars being 1 ... how does that work ... there should be a note next to it saying ... hey we realize that the rating system is jacked up and the majority of people that bought this drive are not happy with it ...

Pros: Speed!

Other Thoughts: I've been using ASUS products for many years and never any real issues!!

Pros: Very reliable, able to burn DVDs efficiently

Cons: First time trying to burn BluRay and receive error message that 'No Burners Detected'. No problem with DVD. Cannot find any drivers or software on ASUS web page to fix this, even on disk provided with the device.

Pros: This is an excellent product, much faster than any drive I have used so far.

I restored 100+ GB's my files from blu-ray discs and it took only a few short minutes on this drive ! I also like the fact it supports BDXL & M-Disc and also lets you encrypt your files.

Cons: None that I can think of

Pros: I like that it has a 16x buring speed verses my 2x that I had before this one.

Cons: I picked this one because it listed it came with PowerDVD 10 which it did not. All the programs that is listed in the specs are wrong. The only program it came with was Power2Go 8. I picked this one because it has newer version of PowerDVD of my version 7.
