5 out of 5 eggsCadillac

Pros: Super quiet... Great burns on quality media.. Fast.

Cons: Not really a "con" to me (I use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, and sometimes Maxell), but if you use cheap/budget media, don't buy this burner...

Other Thoughts: Use quality media, and you will not be disappointed!!!

3 out of 5 eggsNot for WIN 98

Pros: Works out of the box on WIN XP.
Newegg's shipping was super as usual.

Cons: Neweggs site says it is OS 98, 2000
and XP compatible. The box, manuals, and LG's website do not list Win 98. LG does have a driver available on their site but if you are going to use this with Win 98 look elseware. The NERO works well but the DVD editing software is pitiful.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Great price, easy to use, super fast, very portable, was reliable.

Cons: After a few months and over 200 burns, the drive is starting to lock up my Windows XP a little too consistantly while reading and writing CDs, DVDs, and DVD-Rs. I have yet to contact LG about it.

Other Thoughts: I still recomend it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product, so far

Pros: Ordered the product from Newegg. Reveived it less than 48 hours later. Installed the drivers, connected to the USB 2.0 port, inserted a blank DVD, and burnt it using Nero Express (which comes with it, although Nero 7.0 will give you more options). Read the DVD on another, internal drive. All was there. Works like a charm. I used 4X. I haven't tried the higher speeds yet, and unless I am in some rush I probably will not use the higher speeds at all. Lower speeds ensure clean recording. The machine is pretty quiet.

Cons: None that I can report.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is a good sources for excellent products and quick service. It also provides useful reviews. I purchased the burner after readin reviews at Newegg's site.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Burner I've Owned

Comments: Not sure if I got it from, but it is a great burner. USB 2.0 and Firewire ports including wires is great. Burn speeds are consistently fast. Plug and Play on Windows XP. I've burned CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, and DVD+RWs with no problems whatsoever. Haven't tried DVD-RAM yet.

5 out of 5 eggsNice burner

Comments: I bought this burner after checking out the reviews and I'm glad I went with this one. So far, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm using it with a laptop computer with a firewire card. The only thing I wish they included with it was a 6pin - 6pin cord. Included is a 6pin-4pin. I had to go out and buy one. I've burned quite a few discs and it works really good. It's very quiet when burning at 4x. Haven't tried other speeds. Very easy to install and the software works pretty good (Nero Express 6). Recommended!
