5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: Quiet when burning and when creating Lightscribe label, detects as boot device in every machine I've tried, good looking package for a reasonable price.

Cons: None that I have come across.

Other Thoughts: Consider this as an alternative to buying an internal burner and your own enclosure. For the money, this is a much better solution.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Looks overall good. Bought it to use with laptop.

Cons: But the setup CD is DoA. So RMAed.

Other Thoughts: If setup CD is good, then I could own it.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised, very good buy

Pros: Good speed. Very quiet. Excellent price point for the performance and overall capabilities.

Cons: No external off switch. Bulky, definitely not meant for travel.

Other Thoughts: My MacBook Pro "SuperDrive" stopped working properly with the latest BootCamp update, and buying this external drive was cheaper than getting my MacBook Pro fixed at the local Mac store, and it's lets me burn on my other laptops which don't have DVD burners. I was skeptical what kind of speeds a USB drive could burn at, but I've only been impressed with this drive. It's fast, it's quiet, it's cheap. It's big, but it's light for its size.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS

Pros: Excellent for making 360 backups. Connected and installed instantly. Works with XBC and Imgburn.

Cons: Not the latest firmware, and the upgrade was not that easy to find.

Other Thoughts: It's a little big, but it IS a full size DVD writer. Needs external power. Excellent quality for a great price.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It does what it should do.

Cons: The manufacturers web site is lacking in details and really needs improvement if you need to use it.
