Excellent Drive
- Pros: This is an excellent Blue Ray Recorder. I just want to add that it has perfect playback on a Dell Inspiron 2.4 gig Quad Core with 4gig Ram on Vist Home Premium with a 256MB ATI Radion Video Card. Using a Monster DVI-HDMI converter, & Monster HDMI cable it plays back great on your high def TV. 2 minutes to hook-up. I bought this with Pinnacle Studio 12.0 to put together HD Home movies, but the fact that it doubles to watch movies with is even better. Buy it.
- Cons: NONE
awesome product
- Pros: where to start? reading and writing speeds are great (read the specs) i run it on a HP Compaq model SR2017CL from 2006. run flawless on an older machine. blazing speed on my newer laptop HP G70-250US. perfect images of copied discs with the software suite provided, but i noticed it runs slightly faster with Nero9 (maybe its just me). its a perfect addition for anyone who needs the extra space or for backing up your Blu-ray movies. i would recommend it to anyone. the price is just right also
- Cons: none so far, only had it for a month
- Other Thoughts: play around with the type of media that you put into it. i have used the vinpower digital 25gb BD-R's and they work great. if your looking for BD-R DL's i recommend panasonic's BD-R DL's. both work perfectly. although the price of the media is a little ridiculous at the current moment its well worth it thus far. hopefully sometime in the near future the price of media will drop.
No Windows XP x64 Support
- Pros: Awesome blu-ray writing capability out of the box for my Mac Mini.
- Cons: I use Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 on the PC, which required XP x64. The drive, however, isn't recognizable under Windows XP x64. Very sad.
- Other Thoughts: If it supports Vista x64, then why not XP x64?!?!? Is there a fix out there?
