Pros: And it's still going strong. Does everything it's supposed to do and nothing more.

Cons: They don't sell this model anymore.

Other Thoughts: Added to build using XP Home SP3, AMD Kuma 7750, ASRock A780GXE, 4 gigs of GSKILL and a WD 80 gig caviar.

Pros: - Really exciting to get at first
- It's a nice color black
- Makes a pretty sweet paper weight

Cons: - Doesn't work with my set up (Nvidia/Vista)
- Made me hate life for 6 Hours
- Gotta go through the trouble of RMA

Other Thoughts: Right when I got the drive I started to see some reports of the same problem I got. Basically, from what I understand the drive causes blue screen of death. At first it installed Vista ultimate but it would never boot up. Thinking it was my HD I swapped it with a clean vista HD but still blue screen. Took this drive off and bam, perfect.

Moral of this story: You have vista? Got Nvidia? Don't need a paper weight? This is not for you.

For me, gotta find another SATA CD/DVD+R to replace this.

Cons: It doesn't burn anything. I now have 6 ruined DVD-Rs sitting here. The only software I could find that would even attempt to burn the disk was Nero, the others don't even detect this drive.

Other Thoughts: I'll be going back to my 3 year old IDE DVD burner

Pros: It works, no errors, simple install

Other Thoughts: Build Phenom II 920, Asus M3A78-EM, 4 GB GSkill DDR2-800, Thermaltake Purepower 500 watt PSU, LG DVD burner, Rosewill case and card reader, Vista Premium 64 bit.

Pros: Nice price, I must say.

Cons: Two major issues...

1. Drive doesn't like Verbatim DVD-R's, one of my brands.

2. Refuses to verify *any* DVD-R in Nero.

Other Thoughts: I will be replacing this unit with a Lite-On or NEC burner.

Pros: Was able to install vista from it...

Cons: This is the single loudest component I have ever used, aside from a few 40mm fans. This is simply unacceptable.

Pros: none. It was dead. After I took it out of the box it sounded like something was loose inside the case. Drive door won't open.

Cons: I've ordered thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of computer equipment from Newegg and this the first item to show up DOA, after all these years. I'm a bit disappointed.

Cons: well guess theres a first time for everything, never bought s dvd-rw that was doa but this one was, the light comes on the drive you push the button it open but xp will no see this drive
