TWO THUMBS UP!
- Pros: A well known brand and best of all it's a CHEAP retail unit. Burns DVDs quickly, so I can't complain.
- Cons: NONE
- Other Thoughts: Comes with a sata cable and software (didn't bother installing software).
Can't Beat That Price
- Pros: Works exactly as described. easy installation, super fast, very cheap. The price is unbeatable!

Very Picky about Media
- Pros: Installation was easy, XP recognized it right away. Very nice retail packaging - including non-trial versions of Nero 7 Express and CyberLink's PowerDVD 7. Fast and (relatively) quiet drive.
- Cons: My trusty Samsung PATA burner died, so based on the great reviews and excellent retail packaging, I thought I give this LG SATA burner a try. I'm sorry I did.
The LG is very picky about media. I have a cakebox each of Sony CDRs and TDK DVDRs that my old Samsung handled with ease. I have yet to sucessfully burn a DVD and the success rate for CDRs has been less than 50%. The included quick start guide lists the "approved" media and neither Sony CDRs or TDK DVDRs are listed. Wish I'd seen that before I ordered...
- Other Thoughts: Would not buy again. NewEgg's service is fast, but the standard UPS shipping is not. NewEgg shipped it the same day I ordered, but it took UPS a _WEEK_ to deliver a "3-day" business order.
