Other Thoughts: Really, it's pretty hard to screw this up, and LG hasn't. Cheap to buy, reliable for the 3 times I've used it in 2 years, and integrates well with the look of my case(Cooler Master HAF X).

If you need a DVD/CD/DVDRW/CDRW drive(you don't), this one does the job.

Cons: After a year of light use, read and write operations continually failed.

Cons: The timeless maxim of 'You get what you pay for' rings true here. The drive has given me issues the entire time I have owned it. It is temperamental about what type of disk it will play [ ie. audio, DVD, DVD game disk, etc] without any reason or sense. No new drivers have been released for this drive since it hit the open market. Do a Google search on this drive about issues and you will see a never ending forum search result about people with un-solved issues regarding this disk.

The shear anger this drive can foment in you is ridiculous let alone make you pull your hair out cause it just stops working right in the middle of a movie and the drive doesn't recognize the disk all of a sudden even though windows does. Buyer Beware......

I gave it one egg because it did work every now and again.

I'm never buying another LG product again. Period.

Cons: Sometimes it won't open, other times it opens itself and won't close. After 6 months, and less than 6 uses, it's worthless.

Other Thoughts: I rarely use these things anymore since harddrive space became cheap and internet fast. However, when I do need it, it works and faster compared to what I remembered using years ago.

Pros: I've got two of these hooked up in my rig, had both over a year bought at separate times. They can handle most discs and for most people they are alright. But I have had some terrible issues getting them to read a few games that worked great in my other computers Samsung drive. I don't know why but they refused to read the game and just flat out didn't work. I had to download the cd image to play the game i bought.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these based on the brand, rating and bargain price. I've had good experience with LG in the past. I'm not sure if I received two defective units but straight out of the box both were extremely loud and fairly slow.

As with another reviewer, after roughly a month both drives are producing 80% coasters. 30 Days on Parts and Labor is no help to me. The price is nice but in hindsight I should have paid more for a better warranty.

Pros: The drive works fine, has yet to find a disc it can't read or write, and was reasonably priced. Best deal, at the time, as well.

Cons: Drive wasn't a perfect shade/texture to match the case- not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Worth what I spent.
