5 out of 5 eggsGood Player

Pros: It burns lightscribe discs and its a blu-ray player. I am not sure what M-discs are but if they become main stream it is always good to be prepared.

Cons: With the device it self, no

Other Thoughts: Because this is an OEM and unless you purchase it as part of a bundle, there is no Blu-ray playing software. I tried downloading DA player on my computer, but it crashed every time I tried to run it. I tried a trial version of Corel's WinDVD for 30 days and WinDVD played the 2 blu-rays i rented ("In Time" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"). Try DA player first, if that doesn't work your only other option is to buy commercial Blu-ray software.

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive, good price.

Pros: It plays 3D blu-rays, DVDs, and includes lightscribe and mdisc for under 100 dollars. It's LG, i've always had luck with their products.

Cons: Really wish it would have came with a couple SATA cables.. but that's OEM. Some people say it's loud. It's not, it makes some noise but I think it's quieter than the stock DVD player my PC came with.

Other Thoughts: A lot of thoughts here. Since it doesn't come with software.. Daplayer is terrible, out of 10 blurays I tried it played one, it also doesn't support 3D, which is why i bought this drive. If you can't buy (or otherwise obtain) a version of power dvd, don't bother, spend an extra 50 bucks and get software and cords with it. For some reason it would not fit in my expansion drive? I broke the case trying to force it, now my case is broken and my PC is sideways with the drive outside it.. ha. Overall, I'm really pleased.

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive with some sweet technology

Pros: The drive is relatively standard, but good quality. Never have had any issues with it, but my huge pro is really about the M-Disc tech that comes with the drive. Newegg doesn't really say much about it (which is a shame cause it's a major bonus for this drive), but the drive can burn M-Discs which are special archival discs with a unique data layer. After checking out the company and ordering some discs I was really quite impressed by the quality and composition. If you're going to get a drive to burn discs and save information for an extended period of time, you want this drive for the M-Discs

Cons: It's a little annoying to have to go to another site in order to buy those M-Discs, but other than that nothing bad to say.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Blu-ray Rom!

Pros: Works great so far with no problems but you have to really use these things like I do to find out how long they will last.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with my purchase and I would buy another if I needed it.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's an OEM fellas.

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do and it's inexpensive.

Cons: The only con and one that should be considered in this price range is noise. The drive is a little loud, but that's to be expected.

Other Thoughts: To the ones complaining about drivers. I have never needed a driver for an optical drive in 10+ years I've been building computers. Not quite sure why you are asking(or complaining the lack of) for them.
If you mean BD playback or DVD burning software you need to remember you bought an OEM drive. That means a barebones drive. No software, cables or other extras come with this drive. If you did get them like some others then consider it a bonus.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Works great.

Cons: Can get a little loud

Other Thoughts: As listed this is an OEM, which means it is hardware only no cables or software. Not really a con since OEMs tend are normally cheaper then the full products

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive
Looks sharp
Came with SATA cable, Molex to SATA Power cable
Also included Cyberlink PowerDVD (unheard of for OEM)

Cons: Can get loud. Not much worse than any optical drive, though.

Other Thoughts: Please note this is an OEM drive. OEM items rarely contain anything more than the part you're ordering and often times don't even come in a box. It seems like majority of people are receiving some accessories with this item but some people are not.
