Pros: Plays Blu ray discs on the fly, anything really.

Cons: Doesn't come with Blu Ray software but that's ok

Pros: Does everything You need from a disc burner, and FAST

Cons: the only thing in the box was the player wrapped in bubble wrap, no manufacturers box, nothing, I expected it to at least come in some type of Mfg package, made me wonder if its not a refurb, or second hand unit.

Other Thoughts: I have always been happy with LG products, easy to setup and use, the mfg website is easy to navigate to find the software for it

Cons: First one had broken SATA connector, second one overheated as soon as I plugged it in and never worked

Pros: Fast works great with Nero 2015 Platinum! I have no issues using with windows 10 Pro with no firmware update. No issues as seen in some reviews.

Cons: Would have to disassemble to fry me an egg.

Pros: Looking for a cheap blu ray burner, look no further. this will burn just about anything you have, from CD-r - Blu ray media

Other Thoughts: It pays to shop around for a bargain, will buy again

Pros: Burned 2 test 25Gig Blu-ray disks as tests before installing permanently in the computer case with no problems

Cons: Installed in new computer case and SATA connector on drive broke off in cable: as others here have found it's a weak design

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend the product because it of the fragile connector. I've never had a problem with other SATA drive connectors.

Pros: My first BR burner, and so far, am happy with it? Hasn't burned any coaster yet? I wanted a larger backup than DVD, and this does it? 25GB vs 4GB? Only burned one BR-DL (50GB) so far, but it works. Backed up my downloaded files that I don't want to lose, and have to download again...

Cons: none so far?

Other Thoughts: I used Nero 2014 to burn. Nero, even in older versions, always seemed to have fewer 'coasters'. Lot fewer than WIn 7, for sure!

Pros: - Its a Blue Ray burner drive for not a lot of money.
- Does BD-RE.

Cons: - Its a bare, in the box drive with no mounting screws or buffer material, but I knew that upon purchasing it so not really a "Con."

Other Thoughts: - Be sure to have mounting screws ready when you get the drive.
- When it spins fast, it will shake and make a buzzing sound against the metal in your computer case. Be sure to have some kind of rubber washers to help buffer and absorb the vibrations for noise reduction.

Pros: read dvd fine read and burned blu4ay fine.

Cons: UPDATE: I received a replacement rma drive. The firmware will not update on this drive either. I am an IT professional and have been using/building computers for 30 years. Clearly there is something wrong with LGs update tool or the chips in the drives. First drive was manufactured October 2015, second was September 2015. Using Win 7. Tried running as admin, safe mode, all other apps closed. NO GO. I am going with Pioneer instead now. Spent 30 minutes on phone and LG said drive is bad if it won't update. Not sure I trust them. Need someone at LG who really knows what they are talking about. Sorry LG you lost a sale. Others, please do not buy if this is important to you, and it should be so that you can get updates for media compatibility.


Like so many others, I downloaded the firmware 1.02. When i ran the update it results in a checksum mismatch error. i spent 30 minutes on the phone with LG. they tried to help but basically had no fix and said it works in their lab. LG said if the firmware will not update the drive must be replaced. So i have requested an rma. When i get the replacement drive i will report back. I did try running as admin and safe mode, neither worked.

Other Thoughts: my 2 cents I do not belive the new drive will fix the firmware issue. LG really needs to fix this
