Pros: Tactical black color. Despite what the picture shows, mine came with blacked out lettering too.

Cons: This guy is loud. Every time I power up my machine this drive makes a racket. Like something inside is broken. Took it out and got a different drive that is quiet. It surprised me to read other reviews claiming the same noise. So I suppose it is a design feature to make you think your optical drive is gonna break your windows CD.

Pros: No problems installing, still going strong after 6 months.

Cons: Pretty useless to have in hand when facing a charging rhinoceros.

Other Thoughts: Can't open bottles. Why don't they make a DVD drive that has an attached bottle opener? It'd be right on the front of the PC where you'd need it for gaming and drinking. I'd pay an extra 5-10 bucks for that.

Pros: Fast and easy to install. Great item

Cons: Whenever I boot up, this drive makes a loud rattling crunch. It is probably the bearing problem. It also makes a loud whirring when burning.

Other Thoughts: I would have given 3 stars but since I have it in a gaming rig, I don't often use it. I've gotten used to the crunch on startup.

Pros: It works.

Cons: It's loud when burning CDs, so it looses an egg in the rating.

Other Thoughts: I bought an LG 22x DVD burner back in 2008 that is still working in my main PC and I burn a CD about every week, so when I needed a DVD burner for a new build, I choose LG again. This one is rated 2x faster with DVDs, but the same speed with CDs; however, it sounds sort of like a jet when burning discs. I bought it back in mid-November 2015 and it's still working, but just had a Samsung/Toshiba OEM drive spindle fail (first optical drive I've ever had fail out of at least a dozen in my lifetime) and will try Lite-On this time around (since is the only alternative to LG and Samsung) to see if I can get a quiet drive again.

Didn't work at fast but i had to switch the sata cable from me hard drive to it i dont know why but it worked after that
its black front so it matched my case good

Pros: Long lasting drives I have always had great ones from LG. Built my new PC was so out of date on my other forgot the board take sata drives, this thing is worth it's weight for sure.

Other Thoughts: While waiting on shipping I tried a local pc shop in my town they tried to rip me off on a uses acer drive to just install my motherboard drivers for $55. This arrived very fast though TY

Other Thoughts: Optical is slowly becoming a thing of the past so i am glad this product didnt cost much and works with no issue.
There is something to be said about leave it and forget it type products and this is one of them.
