Cons: Then after a year, it just stopped working, nothing I did could get it working again, checked the connections, changed the cables, searched 9 ways to Sunday in HP Support for information on and what to do to fix it, Closest thing they have under the 1270 is two Computer Systems. I am sorry, but Video card and LAN drivers are not going to fix this issue, I am running Win 7 Ultimate and in the Drivers Manager list, its showing that its missing a driver. That is as far as I got before pulling it and using it as a wheel chock for my Tahoe...

Other Thoughts: I used to be a big supporter of HP products but over the last 3 years I personally noticed a major decline in their equipment, especially in repairing customers components, I am now steering all my current and future customers and friends away from this troubling company.

Other Thoughts: I attempted to find the most recent drivers for this on hp's site ("Support & Drivers" > "Drivers & Software" tab), but their website can't locate it. Tried searching for "dvd1270i", "dvd1270", "DVD Writer", etc. Closest thing I could find was for the 1100 series. You can, however, find it under the "Product Support & Troubleshooting" tab, which only contains the manual, but no drivers. Not really a con seeing as I don't have any problems with the drive, but you would think HP would at least list a driver for it. It does come with a driver disc, I was just curious to see if there were a newer one available, that's all.

NOTE: You download Lightscribe designer software from their website (http://lightscribe.com) - it's not included on the disc.

Cons: I bought 10 of these cd/dvd burners from Newegg.com, back in Nov/Dec 2011, guess what they are already going out. They were doing great until the last two months, when I started wasting blank dvd-rs and I attribute it to these cd/dvd burners.

Pros: I've had mine over a year. Works perfect. No issues

Cons: none. other than not a blueray. I'll have to ad that later :P

Pros: Product worked exactly as intended, went into a new build without problems and does what i need it to do.

Cons: A bit noisy after about two weeks, when starting up, i can hear a grinding noise.

Other Thoughts: overall satasfied
