Comments: I also bought this drive hoping that i can at least get around 32X out of it. Along with the purchase, i got some mitsumi which is rated at 48X. After i tried burning 3 cds(i thought the first two had problems), i realize i could only burn at 16X!!! now...where does that 48X claim come from, even if u give me like 32X, i'd still be quite happy...but 16X out of a drive that's capable of 54X? That's just unacceptable. I emailed mitsumi about the problem, they told me to try other media that they have tested for 54X which is totally not what i asked. I only asked them why i can only burn at 16X with a MITSUMI DRIVE AND A MITSUMI CD! I should have kept the LG 52X that i had, that thing rocked compared to this xxx. Think twice before buying this!

1 out of 5 eggsA real let down...

Comments: I too feel mitsumi makes good products and at a low cost. This Burner however is not one of them. It boasts 54 speed burning, and yet no matter what program and media I use I cannot gt over 16x (8 mins for full CD) ALSO I cant believe how slow this drive responds, its seek time is terrible, and also very loud! Im very dissapointed in Mitsumi. It was cheap, and Newegg is always great and got it to me right away, I think its just a bad product. so maybe the drive I got is defective, I dunno, dont really care to RMA, Im just going to buy another, and try to sell this off and take my losses. I see Newegg has many other drive boasting better specs, and similar pricing, so Im going to try a LiteON drive. Good luck if you get this drive. THANKS NEWEGG!!!
