Good drive
- Pros: Fairly quiet, which is extremely important to me.
Read/write CD, newegg just didn't list it as part of the spec.
Lightscribe, > have not tested.
- Cons: Clunky tray ejection. Might be a problem later on.
- Other Thoughts: I never care much for DVD drive but i've built and overclocked many systems. This drive is by far the quietest to my ears. I think it came out in April, 2008, so it's fairly new tech from Samsung. I would've rated it a 5 had the tray's ejection been smoother, but as it is, it's not perfect.
Excellent quiet fast drive
- Pros: Drive is fast, quiet, and short (installed in a Shuttle case). Light Scribe on top of it makes this a wonderful addition. The fact that this comes with Nero 7 is great too, some of the best burning software I've used (and I've used a lot)
- Cons: None - Nero required me to turn of Anti-Virus, so that may get you at first, but turn it off, install, and turn it back on.
- Other Thoughts: Buying another for my other desktop replacing an IDE drive since the Mobo has an extra 2 SATA connectors

Doesn't always work
- Pros: Reads DVDs
- Cons: Only works when it wants to. I can't get it to read most of the DVDs/CDs I put in.
Does the job at an unbeatable price
- Pros: Reasonably quiet, seems to reach advertised speeds, doesn't have an obnoxious blue LED burning a tunnel through my retinas.
- Cons: Not as black as my anodized case (none of drives are, though).
- Other Thoughts: Haven't used Lightscribe yet, because I don't keep the media on hand. Regardless, you can't go wrong for the price.

- Pros: Has burned every disk that I have put into it, even those pesky Sony DVD's without one failure. That is a pretty good record. DL does fine.
- Cons: Light scribe is overrated in my opinion. I'd rather do DVD labels all day.
