From one of the first names in computer hardware comes an optical disc burner to make your life easier. This IDE drive burns both CD and DVD media so you can choose the disc to use based on the job at hand. Since it works with all of the popular media types, including dual layer DVD, you can organize the burns to use a minimum of discs saving you both money and space. When you are done with the burn, flip the disc over and burn a permanent label onto the other side.

Pros: Its Very good quality and it has a very small footprint in the case. Burns excellent. Its a trustworthy Item. Lighscribe works good.

Cons: You can hear it spin... if thats a con. Doesn't make me coffee.

Other Thoughts: Its a DVD Drive and its Samsung. What else do you say..

Pros: zero

Cons: Will not play a dvd will not record a dvd, will not even play the
samsung dvd that comes with it, the web site is so bad I never could down load the drivers from them,

Maybe mine is the exception, I love my samsung monitor
also purchased from new egg. but I will never by another burner from them.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 burners and 1 didn't work ( although it would at least play a dvd) and the other lasted about 4 months. Biggest problem it cost about the sme price as new just to mail back and thats still a gamble..guess I'll by in a store from now on so I can at least take it back to em...best of luck to the rest of YA

Pros: Runs well, fairly quietly. Speeds are comparable to what I'd expect in a standard DVD drive.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This drive happened to be cheapest (on sale) when I was searching. If this is true while you are looking, I don't think you will be disappointed going with this unit. It isn't a spectacular drive, but I've owned it for a good number of months and it still runs like when first purchased.
