Pros: Quiet

Cons: Will not always recognize blank discs when attempting to burn cd's, dvds. The few audio cd's I have managed to burn with it can't be read by my car or trucks cd player. So basically is a reader as the write function (what I bought it for) is broke.

Other Thoughts: Had issues from the time I purchased it, but would work sometimes. Then after a year just quit reading blank discs alltogether. Still reads cds, just won't write because it won't recognize the blank media. No firmware update to resolve the issue either.

Pros: Very Fast burner........lightscribe.........very good overall

Cons: OEM........

Pros: This is the quietest DVD burner I have ever owned. You need to have it to believe it. It's ridiculously fast, quiet, etc.

My old DVD burner by comparison is a jet engine.

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Price seems to vary quiet a bit. Bought it at $2 shipping with free Dark Knight DVD bundle. Now it's $8 shipping.

Pros: Fast drive, quiet....lightscribe!

Cons: None.

Pros: Installed and connected, Windows 7 64-bit immediately saw the burner. Works.

Was easily recognized by CDBurnerPro XP.

Cons: Was hard to locate possible firmware updates. I finally manged to find the site. My burner was up-to-date, but still.

Plastic tray.

OEM, so cables or other hardware are not included. You'll need to get these yourself.

Other Thoughts: It reads CDs, and DVDs; can burn CDx and DVDs using CDBurnerPro XP. I don't bother with LightScribe, so can't comment on that.

Pros: Does what it supposed to do and does it well.

Cons: No software/ cables. But i guess thats what you get with bulk/OEM

Other Thoughts: Solid drive so far. no probs

Pros: Bought this drive for new system build and am very pleased. No coasters and actually quiet compared to
some drives I've had in the past.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My new build is all air, so drive noise is not that bad.
Have my fans turned high to keep temps down, so not
a big issue. Very pleased and would give it more eggs
if possible, for Newegg's service!

Pros: Solid no nonsense drive, will burn a good burn time and time again.

Cons: What the?! Bought this one to put in my new box since my prior Samsung drive will be in my old/new server. That drive has been fantastic. I left behind years of purchasing Lite On drives due to the high noise those drives could put out. Guess my surprise when I burned an ISO with this drive! Easily the loudest component in my office. Had to Crank the TV to drown out the drone.

Other Thoughts: If this is were Samsung has decided to produce loud cheap cr&% I will have to look for another brand both for myself and my clients! Wake up Samsung your drives used to be the least noisy of all drives. Couple this with the free fall of Plextor drives and it seems there are no decent drives to be had.

Pros: - pretty dang fast
- no coasters yet!

Cons: - I dunno, it doesn't read stuff faster? Isn't a laser only light and light is the fastest thing there is, so what gives? Why do I have to wait a whole minute to load a disc?
(I had to stretch to find a con with a component that works as advertised)

Other Thoughts: I haven't noticed this being louder or quieter than any other DVD drive I've had, they are all BY FAR the loudest thing in my PC so they all stink in that regard, IMHO.

Pros: VERY GOOD PRODUCT. IN GENERAL JUST A CLEAN UNIT AND GREAT READ AND WRITE TIMES
