Pros: Cheap, fast enough, works without fuss, very handy. Needs only one USB plug on all my computers.
Cons: That's -- just IMHO -- a nasty blue. Feels a little like a rattletrap gizmo, although it works every time. This is throwaway technology, not some lovely Swiss watch.
Other Thoughts: I bought it as Open Box, so it was even cheaper than usual. Very pleased at how easily it was put into service. Have been booting a lot of Linux versions on it, to find a nice netbook OS. Perfect performance from first to last so far.

bad news - requires 2 USB ports
Pros: Everything except for the big bad negative that it uses up 2 USB ports. Most people buy these devices to use with netbooks or small laptops that don't have a built in DVD burner. The problem is that small laptops often have only a very limited number of USB ports. This device consumers two of those. That's a downer in my opinion.
Cons: As stated, the big negative is that it takes two powered USB ports to run the DVD Burner. Many small netbooks and laptops without an Internal DVD burner also lack an adequate number of unused USB ports. This device will consume many of those you do have in many cases.
Other Thoughts: Found it at other than Newegg for less money. That's a real rarity.
