Pros: Cheap. Works.

Cons: Really cheap. Very flimsy tray.

Pros: it does burn discs. Cheap.

Cons: if you burn over 4GB, you consistely will have errors. Large movies will be playable up until 15-10min, and then they will hang and eventually stop playing. It seems like the burning error always occurs at the same spot

Other Thoughts: Item's model # isn't listed on Samsung's web site, can't be registered, so forget the manufacturer's warranty.

Pros: Direct replacement laptop/notebook drive
Inexpensive and readily available

Cons: Drive tray doesn't extend as much as the oem toshiba drive did making it somewhat difficult to place a disc in the tray.

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive to replace the oem toshiba dvd-rw in my sons laptop. This drive is a standard slim drive and fits perfectly. I had to remove the bezel from the stock drive and put it on this one. I only wish that newegg would've had a bd notebook drive instead.

Pros: It's slim, inexpensive, and works.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: You need a slim SATA cable to hook this up. I used a "BYTECC Model SATA-XP118 18" Sata and Slim Sata Power 7+6pin Cable, for Sata Slim OD," and it worked fine.

Pros: Slim design, I used with a Chenbro 1x ODD Bay/3.5" HDD frame. Thankfully that frame came with an adapter for the ODD to go into regular sata III.

Cons: Having to get adapter to work for PC. not worth losing an egg.

Pros: Replaced the GT32N Hitachi drive in a less than 1 year old Acer 5560-7402. Perfect fit and the old faceplate went right on. Not a single issue with this drive

Cons: Nothing wrong on the drive at all!

You can bet my next laptop will NOT be an Acer. The DVD burner and 500 gig HD have boh now failed on this thing. Lucky for me I was planing the SSD I bought and this DVD burner was cheaper than shipping the laptop and then waiting to get it returned.

Other Thoughts: Acer support is terrible. Trained monkeys could do it better.

Pros: Price is good and the drive is quiet. Installed this in my HTPC and couldn't be happier!

Cons: This drive does need a slimline adapter to connect cables. Not included, so plan on spending an extra $7 or so.

Pros: Cheap, works perfectly. Need Item#: N82E16812200374 SLIMLINE cable to connect so heads up like Cinderblock says...

Cons: Tiny screws (but included in package)

Other Thoughts: Slim DVD burner for cheap. Installed mine with Icydock Item#: N82E16817994146 which also mounts two SSD's in a nice 5.25" slot.

Cons: Has unknown connectors, no mounting capability

Other Thoughts: This must be good for something, but I'll be darned if I can see what. Available sources here (newegg), and on the Samsung site offer no clue.

Pros: Cheap slim DVD Burner

Cons: Does not include *slimline* SATA adaptor. Not an issue if Newegg had mentioned that this is *slimline*.

Other Thoughts: The other reviewer was WRONG. This is *not* Micro SATA. This is slimline SATA.

I'm fine with them not including an adapter. It was not knowing that I'd need one that was the issue.
