contact Samsung customer service. They told me to return to the store bought it. contact Newegg. they said no way to return it.

Pros: Does exactly what a DVD burner/CD-ROM drive should do. Easy to install, very quiet

Other Thoughts: In this day and age, everything can be downloaded from the internet. Infact, I have only used the dvd drive once since building my machine and that was to install the Network drivers.

But this thing is also for when the internet goes out, or i decide to watch one of those dvd on the shelf. So many uses that I haven't even gotten to yet.

I recommend you pick a dvd burner up but spend no more than 15$ dollars on one. They go on sale quiet frequently and you may see a deal of 2 burners for $10.

Pros: It seems to be a solid drive. Reliable burns, churning out several copies with flawless results.

Cons: The only problem I have with this drive is the loud operation. As noted with several other reviewers, the drive is very loud.

I used this drive to repair a friends computer. She hardly uses the drive for anything, and has a budget to stay within. The unit was $13.99 on sale, and was perfect for her. (It was a great price till I ordered it, and then NewEgg decided to drop the price another dollar!) Isn't that the way it always seems to go? If I had to pay $20 for it, I think I'd rate it at 3 stars.

Still... I'm happy with the operation, and the price was right.

Other Thoughts: If it hadn't been on sale, I'd rather stick with Lite-On, or another one of the more well known drives. For less than $15, this is a great drive!

The software that is included with the drive, is best stored in the waste basket. I would think for a drive that regularly sells for $20, they really should have included a reputable burning program.

But on the bright side, you'll have an excellent coaster. Set your beer on it, because that's all it's good for. But, there's plenty of great freeware burning programs out there. I downloaded a copy, and she should be a very happy camper.

Pros: Reasonable price, spins up fast, so far has been a consistently working drive.

Cons: Definitely just a generic burner meant to be a cheap constituent to a system. It's rather loud, and you can hear internal parts vibrating. The only thing that makes it Samsung is the logo printed on the front.

Other Thoughts: Again, it works as a drive should, but if you're concerned about every part being perfect spend more and get a higher end drive.

Pros: I've only had to use it to install the OS and drivers, but it was cheap and served its purpose.
