3 out of 5 eggsSo so

Pros: Slim, supports m-disk DVDs

Cons: Cannot write half of the DVD media I have tried, slanted front of tray is cumbersome.

Other Thoughts: Can't read or write some DVD-R media that my Lite-On burner has no problems with

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Overall a great value. This was much cheaper and easier to use than an internal drive.

Cons: Little slow sometimes because it is connected by usb, I knew that when I purchased though.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Thin, light weight and portable, and you don't feel like it is going to break sitting in your backpack. Uses the micro B usb connection so if you lose the cord you don't have to pay a premium for a proprietary cord.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Have to update the firmware on arrival. Remember that W7 & 8 do not natively support BR. The package comes with PowerDVD, which works, but I don't like it. There are other options out there, but I don't like them much either. I can archive a BR in about an hour.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Great out of the box. I'm using Rosewill BD Discs, with no "coasters" thus far. Windows 7 easy, with NERO 2014 to write BD Data Discs.

Very quiet while operating. Auto-ejects on it's own. Be careful with inserting and removing disc. Seems fragile to the touch?

Cons: You must install TSST software, which comes with burner, and download firmware. You should do that before the first burn. You'll need to reboot several times with each firmware update.

I'm using Nero 2014. If I want to view or burn movies, I must upgrade to Nero Platinum, $$$. I suspect the same holds true with Cyberlink POWERDVD (inserted in box), in order to view and burn Blu-Ray movies.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would recommend this product. Shame on Samsung for not obtaining licencing to have this model COMPLETELY burn- ready upon box opening with NERO, Cyberlink, and other software brands.

5 out of 5 eggsit does the job well so far.

Pros: It works as expected. I burned a couple of BR single layer, at 4x. No issues. Worked well on my PS3.

Cons: None so far.
