Other Thoughts: I bought this DVD writer in order to learn French from CDs, because my laptop does not have an internal dvd drive.
It worked a few times pretty well. Then it started to make noise when the CD was in. Later it started to skip some parts on the CDs. I only have used it for about 1 1/2 month. Unfortunately, I cannot return this device back to Newegg.com (30 day return policy) and I cannot use this defective DVD drive anymore. By the way, on Youtube there is a good video about problems with this DVD writer.
Again, I have used it for CD reading only.

Pros: -Super sleek
-Doesn't get fingerprints easily
-Slim design
-Fairly fast operation
-Nice tactile feel on the eject button
-No power cable; powered through USB

Cons: -Makes weird noise sometimes because of vibration under load but most of the time is pretty vibration-free
-Not quite the fastest out there but for the aesthetics it's definitely worth it

Other Thoughts: I got this to match my girlfriend's white computer case and it did just that. It doesn't perform as well as some others but it's definitely good. It plays DVDs well, it writes at a nice speed, and it doesn't cost a whole lot. It has a very sleek and glossy finish in person and it's hard to get fingerprints on (which scared me at first) so that's relieving. It gets power from the USB cable and doesn't require another power cable like my other DVD writer, so that's a plus a well.
