Rosewill USB 2.0 Slim8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive for PC Model ROD-EX003-R Gloss Red

Pros: I've bought one of these from newegg before and lost the AC adapter, but all in all it's a great burner and I decided to just buy another to have an extra burner on hand.

Cons: usb 2.o is alil old.

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do, write DVD'sl. However, I think it's faster than the internal writer that came with my Sony laptop!

Cons: It's so small and light, I'm afraid I might lose it somewhere.

Pros: Cheap and Works as decribed

Pros: This small DVD player definitely plays well. I have not tried to burn a disc yet. Anyway, it will work when you plug the USB head, with the larger cable, into the computer USB port...provided the other micro-USB head is also plugged into the player. ((There is an additional normal sized USB head on a smaller cable that is connected to the larger cable via the other normal sized USB head.)) The computer then searchs for and loads the appropriate drivers...ready to go. Reading the comments of other new owners writing on NewEgg.com helped considerably.

Cons: The instruction English could use a bit of tweaking... The instructions... kind of... indicate plugging in both of the normal sized USB connectors. I am guessing, based upon commentors, that this is needed to support the energy load needed to burn discs...

Other Thoughts: The color is not quite a red, more like a magenta-ok. I was hoping to match the red of the new Acer I have purchased. No big deal. I'd rather have color than not.

The UPS tracking was superb. Strangely though...the player arrived in Colorado on Friday morning, 0307 but wasn't delivered until the next Monday evening; 2113. Though I think that is right on the 5 day delivery mark...as expected. Priority driven system.

Pros: Small, portable

Cons: Can't plug the two usb plugs in the front of my desktop computer (probably because DVD needs more power than is supplied to the front panel of case), but works well with both DELL inspiron laptop and Gateway netbook.

Other Thoughts: I have not tried burning yet, but I do recommend this.

Pros: Slim, matches my HP 110 red netbook, and comes with a great USB course.

Cons: Reads music discs just fine, but wont ever read data/installation disks for anything...windows, printer driver, school/educational software. I have windows 7 starter, then upgrades to 7 pro...still no luck. Doesnt say it supports 7, so beware. It might, but it isnt list as suck, or atleast on mine I bought last year for 29 bucks. Still same price as last year (weird)

Other Thoughts: I would get a different external if you had to. Mine work, but spend the extra 5 or 10 bucks and save the frustration of needing the drive and it not working.

I give 3 eggs becasue it works as long as I know how to use it.

Pros: slim design, fits everywhere, powered by usb cord, works as advertised.

Cons: feels a little bit cheap but no big deal. the red one is now priced $35 but I don't understand why a red color would worth $5 more than an identical black one.

Pros: Reads discs with no trouble

Cons: Loud when reading, havnt tried burning anything but I'm assuming itll still be load

Pros: Was on sale with free shipping. Works fine for installing windows on book size computers.
