The Canon Pixma printer not only prints lab-quality photos on your desktop, but it scans photographs at 4800 x 9600 resolution, and copies at up to 30 pages per minute! The 7-color ink system will print rich, lasting copies of your photos at resolutions up to 9600 x 2400, in about 35 seconds. Whether you're printing on letter or legal sized plain paper, envelopes, or photo paper from credit card-sized to 8 x 10", you'll appreciate the sharp, crisp text, and brilliant, detailed photos that come from 3,584 precision nozzles carefully placing uniform, 1-picoliter ink droplets!
Print directly from your flash memory media with the built-in card reader, or wirelessly from your infrared-enabled camera phone, thanks to the Pixma's infrared port. Dock your PictBridge digital camera, and your camera will charge while your pictures transfer and print. Pixma also offers an Ethernet interface, so you can save your scanned or transferred images to any computer on the network, and all the network's computers can share the printing power.
Your kids' reports will impress, your scrapbooks will be bold and bright for years to come, and your business presentations will be more polished and professional than ever before!

Excellent
- Pros: Fast for both scanning and printing compared to competitive products. The scanner light also is very quick at warming up. The interface (LCD and wheel) is easy to use. LCD is large and produces great picture. Ethernet from Canon (finally). Print and scan qualities are excellent
- Cons: Network printing is useable but poorly implemented. There is no wireless except for optional Blue Tooth. It is not straight IP printing either. Cannon has their own system via mounting printer memory as network drive via installed drivers. Bloatware. A lot of is optional. But even the slimmest installation could have been trimmed by couple of small apps.
- Other Thoughts: Activating the network printing requires you to use a computer already connected via USB to turn it on. It should have been on by default out of the factory. Waiting on people to 'hack' to activate direct CD/DVD printing like other Pixma printers.
Great Printer
- Pros: Made by Canon! An all-in one that also does photos. Scanner does slides and negatives with an almost perfect output. Duplexing is a great plus, along with networking.
- Cons: Make sure you have desk space for it, printer is heavy and bulky. Ink is expensive, but ink is expensive for all printers.
- Other Thoughts: This is the third Canon I have owned and have not been disapointed.

- Pros: Excellent photo quality, very easy to use from both the on machine interface and the intalled software. The photo printing software is easy for all in my family to use.
I have the software on 4 computers, 2 wireless laptops(1 XP, and 1 Vista 32), and 2 desktops(1 XP, and 1 Vista 32). Ink usage so far is excellent, seperate ink tanks are a plus and they are not too expensive. All in all, a far better product than my old HP all-in-one (PSC1600). Having 2 seperat paper trays with options to chang them from the on machine interface or the computer(s) is a plus also.
- Cons: Machine is big, but worth it for the features
- Pros: Very nice I will keep this short.
1) print better than any printer I haved ever used 2) it is not a HP
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Looking for a all in one without a fax you won't go wrong with this
Good printer. Hard wireless setup.
- Pros: Canon-Very high quality.
Great controls on the printer. Great quality prints so far.
- Cons: Very big.
Very difficult to initially set up access for computers on wireless network. Eventually switched out printer cable which is required in initial steps of wireless setup and it seemed to go much easier after that.
- Other Thoughts: Not sure if my problems with setup for my wirelessly connected computers were due to quirky printer cable or not. But it was very spotty success when I first tried setup on my laptop and desktop with wireless card. I eventually switched out to new printer cable and it seemed to go much quicker and easier. So far so good.
The printer is VERY big. but it does have a lot of features including printer paper tray versus the standard feed slot on the back (which it has as well).
